  1. It might be an idea that whoever gets a grant from now on also mentions if he/she received this email? Instead of changing the whole spreadsheet
  2. My agent just said she received emails for mainly TRT applications and some recent DE applications. Other long waiting DE applicants including myself she had not received any email for.
  3. My theory is that the email got send to all applications that have not been allocated to CO’s yet, so that when someone picks up your file, its ready to be processed. Most people that haven’t received the email are long waiters. That we haven’t heard anything doesnt mean our file is not allocated yet, just that the CO has not worked on it/finalised it.
  4. I am sorry Hex, I think it is hard for people like yourself that got PR within a year to understand the level of stress for people waiting almost 2. I never thought I would be as desperate and depressed about this as I am now. I am sure that most 2017 applicants feel the same way. And like I said, I dont think it will change, but waiting 2 years for an outcome is too long if they mention 6-8 months when you apply, even in a non ideal world.
  5. Yes I understand that they cant put a time limit. They will cut themselves in the fingers. However maybe they should completely change their way of doing things. I dont see the benefit for them of having me on a temporary visa or bridging versus being a permanent resident. And in regards to quotas, I get that they get just a certain amount of spots per occupation, but then they should at least process the occupations in sequence. Or have some filtering system with more accurate waiting times depending on some key factors of your application. They told me 6-8 months when I applied, its almost triple the maximum timeframe now. Its mentally draining and hard to stay positive after some time.Anyway, I dont expect any change, but it could be a bit more human
  6. My friends just got their PR, cant remember the exact role but its in IT. Applied TRT July 2018, granted today.
  7. Any contact what so ever??? if you call them tomorrow please share what they say. I am really wondering what they will do once you passed double the processing time and if they actually pass it on as they have said to some people on this forum over the phone.
  8. I agree, there should be a time limit, we need some hope that one day we can move on with our lives and plan a future, whether that is here or not. I heard that in my country they have to give a decision within 3 months, if they fail to get back within the 3 months they have to grant it. ohhhh I wish this was the case here
  9. It’s absolutely disgusting and unhuman to let people wait this long. Lives are on hold and its way too long to live in uncertainty. I started to struggle since I passed the 12 months mark. I believe now that they will just never pick up my file as they dont even have any sort of limit for the 10% left in the dark. I am pretty much all day frustrated and down and dont know for how long i can keep on doing this. I honestly believe this is their game and they are trying to break us.
  10. I have asked my MA this question a year ago, she replied: The training requirement is prior to the application for Direct Entry application.. did you apply TRT? In that case I dont know..
  11. My MA also advised me to lodge a TRT application before my 457 expires if I would have the money (which is a lot!!!) because in case of refusal of my DE 186 I wouldnt be able to lodge a TRT anymore while being on a bridging visa. And yes as mentioned above you always have the appeal option, but my MA said it would take 2-3 years to get a hearing only, which you then puts you potentially back in the queue in case of a positive outcome. So another year on bridging visa it could be 3-4 years on a bridging visa. I would not like that. The only question is , why a 482 ? Because its a temporary visa so how could you then get PR eventually?
  12. That is really annoying, but If you got a CO dont you have a direct email address or contact number of your CO?

  14. Yes got the same answer last week! They said “ when its far outside of the processing times”, I asked them what is far? 8 months seems pretty far, but they said also double. So yes, 6 more months to go !!!!!
  15. Hi all, Just want to hear some opinions on the following Immigration changes I don’t understand. They will cut the immigration intake from 190.000 to 160.000 but how will this ever help the issues they mention about infrastructure ? The remaining 30.000 will still be in the country, waiting endless on an outcome. Isnt it just the temporary visas that are an issue of overcrowding etc? Second of all, isnt it a big mess that with this ridiculous waiting time they dont have any control of who can stay in the country and who is not? In my case, There is literally no benefit for them for me to wait another couple of months for an outcome, if they refuse it, better kick me out now! If they approve it later, in the mean time I am staying anyway in their country!? Obviously off shore applications are different. Third, the waiting time for an appeal is according to my MA 2-3 years. This is basically another visa! So people can actually use this appeal to stretch their stay in Australia another 2-3 years, even if they have no option of winning. It just doesnt have much logic to me. Maybe someone could help me understand
  16. I just cant reapply for DE as my occupation is taken off the list, but I am still eligable to apply for a TRT. It will be with the same company. I just think that my file is so far lost that I have better chances of getting it picked up when I re apply
  17. I almost feel like withdrawing my application en re apply for a TRT instead of DE as by now I have worked long enough for this restaurant. Its just so much money!!!
  18. I believe that they will have a quick look at a file, if they see a reason to refuse, they will do that right away. If they think it looks fine, they will either process it or put you back in line depending on quotas. So in a way my wait seems like a good sign....I had a friend applying for the same occupation a month after me and she received a refusal a year ago as I havent had any contact.
  19. Congrats to everyone, must be a relief. Enjoy your freedom! However I get more and more frustrated to see people that apply over a year after me getting many PR’s lately. It really feels like my day is never gonna happen
  20. When I check my IMMI account it says “ Action Flag Still Showing” but then it says not to worry if the following documents are uploaded already. I am pretty sure my MA uploaded everything. Do you have the same warning when you log in??
  21. Yes if they could only tell us what timeframe 100% would be processed or even opened(!!!!)they should be ashamed!!
