    Im back at work too mate. Awful isn it. Usually I come back late Jan but new job means I need to be in the office from the go. Off to Europe skiing and partying in a few weeks mind! No news your end then hey? Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you.

Cant believe you got it on NYE as well! Hope you are still super hungover!!! Makes me super happy to know you finally got it after all this time - always managing to keep everyone's spirits up too!     That is such good news!!!! Well happy for you! Friend of mine is getting stressed after waiting 8 months. Told him maybe not to look on here haha! Sounds like you are close anyway. Please message me if you get it! Weird I check this forum around the time you get your first bit of good news. Maybe its meant to be? I feel a Jan 8th visa coming on for you! It is so hot and Im dreading riding home. Bought a new motorbike so Ive been on it every day. Did not consider how hot I would be sitting at the lights!! Ouch.

    The criteria is that you need to have shown a genuine effort to stay with your employer. Basically it needs to be a genuine position in the first place and then you can't just skip as soon as you get your PR. Ive been in the role for 4 years and have done well. I just got headhunted and couldn't turn it down. I would have stayed and never intended to leave just yet! I think that I can demonstrate that fairly easily if asked.

    Hahaha! In SYNC totally. I used to be a ski instructor and taught up in Perisher five years ago! Spooky Holiday wise i've been skiing twice, had a trip to the reef and have my trips locked in for next year. Also Ive just been offered a job by the government no less. So after all this, I may be moving jobs in two weeks ha! EDIT: Not in the Department of Home Affairs haha

    I think you may have misjudged Mr Morrison. He doesn't care about immigrants like us and thats evident in his comments on foreign policy. The only thing I would say would work in our favour is that he understands the economics of immigration and its contribution to the economy. I doubt he would reduce the target but he may get rid of occupations which are not as highly skilled as others/or in demand.

    Yep the citizenship bill, although defeated once already, will probably go through if the liberals stay in. Malcolm will need to choose his battles if he does win with the hard right of his party. Citizenship for migrants is not worth the effort and the left don't really care either when compared to say energy. Im also going to call it now... Citizenship legislation will change and come into force in Feb next year ?

    Mate Malcolm is going to have to call an election asap. You heard it hear first - Election in November latest! I actually have an event Im running in early November and the PM is meant to be our keynote dinner speech....God forbid I have to welcome and host Peter Dutton!!! I despise the man! Dutton will resign now but challenge Malcolm if he doesn't call it. He only needs seven people to cross the line and its over. EDIT: Dutton has just resigned.

But those numbers suggest that close to half the party supports Peter Dutton. That is not good news for Turnbull moving forward. We would expect Dutton to step down from the Cabinet now

He will be reducing net migration fast and will most likely increase rejections of current visa applications if his rhetoric is anything to go by. Not good!

    Wheeeeeeeeyyy!!! He's bagged it! Good feeling hey! 7 months is a pretty snappy turnaround all things considered. Shall we meet back on here in 12 months once we have applied for citizenship haha?! Im already counting down the days to apply! Whats the celebration plans look like?
