Hello everyone - just an update to keep you all up-to date with one of the hardest weeks of my life. My PR has just been granted Woah I cant even believe it and I'm literally shaking. The decision to refuse nomination was overturned and my Visa was granted today I will post again soon to explain the exact process and what went on since my nomination was refused - once I find the time to detail it all as was a complicated case. Put it this way, my MA agent was unbelievable and I owe them so much. Its crazy, I've went to feeling so down to so high in a matter of weeks. I will post again soon detailing the whole timeline and what exactly happened....for now, I'm going to celebrate

Sad news this morning - my nomination was refused I'm awaiting a meeting with my MA to find out the reason why - once I know I will share it on here. My application was more complicated than most and I sort of had this in the back of my mind this could happen but hey life goes on. I wasn't actually as upset as I thought I would have been. Still currently on my 457 so no need to make any urgent decisions at the moment however at first thought - I don't think I will appeal. I see it can take another 12-18 months for your appeal to be heard and to be honest I don't think I can put our life on hold for that amount of time again. My wife wants to start a family and I don't feel comfortable doing that whilst sitting on a bridging visa awaiting the possible outcome - no matter how strong my case may be. So it looks like my journey in Australia has come to an end - I have so many great memories here and I wouldn't change them for the world. I believe in life, things that are meant to be are meant to be and I guess its just our destiny to be back home. Although they wont say it, both my Wife and my parents will be over the moon I bet - they really struggled with the thought of us having a family out here alone. Good luck to everyone on here - the forum has helped me through the process and its an awesome community that you all should be proud of. I probably will take a step back from the forum now and I doubt I will post much more - just need to start planning the move back to the UK. My company has offices back home so I'm currently looking into an internal transfer. Farewell and God Bless

As far as I'm aware they are just processing your medical - keep an eye on it for a further update.

Sorry, do you mean Immigration came to your place of work? There is no need to be concerned, unless you have something to hide. I wouldn't worry.

I would also add that if you decided to not start work with the Employer - they would be pretty annoyed about it and would call IMMI immediately. This could see your visa cancelled. Normally the "2 years" can be hard to enforce - especially if you are already working with the employer and you leave on good terms, say after 6 months - 1 year. However your case is slightly different as you have not started working with them yet. It would be pretty easy to come to the conclusion that you never intended to work with them in the first place and hence your application would be deemed fraudulent.

Especially as his PR has been granted - he has no real reason to hang around to help people. Majority of the time once PR is granted poster disappears. @Hex Your a credit to the community we have here

Hi guys, just a quick question. I’ve imported my 186 trt application today and found Action Required medical examination. Spoke to my Migration Lawyer and he said it is generic requirement for 186 application and i should not do it untill CO request for it. My question is should i do it now for time saving or wait for CO request. Has someone experienced this to save timeframe??? If you wait until CO requests it - this will delay the approval of your Visa as your application is not "decision ready". A medical is a requirement so you will need to do it at some point. Id suggest trying to get it done before a CO is assigned to your application. Id generally recommend doing it after your application has been in for around 5-6 months. This way, you shouldn't risk having to do your medical twice, as it only valid for 12 months. This is just my opinion however.

Current processing times are 12 - 13 months for TRT. You are well within that. Nothing is wrong with your application. IMMI don't process the applications in date order. They also don't process the applications at random. They will use multiple factors to decide which visas get processed first. Unfortunately no one on here knows their exact criteria - we can only speculate. Again your visa could get processed within 6 months or it could take 16 months+ - no one can tell you when. Sometimes it feels like groundhog day on here

There will always be a few outliers - those that are processed very quickly OR those that seem to take years. What are IMMIs exact criteria for this? Well no one really knows. We do know for sure that your Occupation and Employer are big contributing factors. For example - If you check those who are still waiting from 2017 - they will have similar types of occupations. Point to note - there is no point calling IMMI. You are still within the estimated processing times. They will just tell you to wait. I'm afraid you just need to sit tight like the rest of us.

A nomination CANNOT be refused without IMMI giving a reason. A letter will be issued to your MA/Company containing the reason for refusal.

See estimated time frames here - https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/global-visa-processing-times No one can tell you when your PR might be granted. Edit - just noticed your nomination has been approved - so you shouldn't be much longer now.

That's good No real harm done other than extending your waiting period a little.

This. Speak to an MA who will be able to establish the best path for you to take. Don't phone the IMMI helpline as they are prone to giving out false information.

I just had a quick look and I don't think there is a waiting period for Child Care Subsidy - so @Cheshireborn will be okay The waiting period relates to the following: A four year waiting period applies to: Newstart Allowance Youth Allowance Austudy Parenting Payment Mobility Allowance Sickness Allowance Bereavement Allowance Special Benefit Pensioner Education Supplement Farm Household Allowance Low Income Health Care Card Commonwealth Seniors Health Card. A two year waiting period applies to: Parental Leave Pay Dad and Partner Pay Carer Payment. A one year waiting period applies to: Carer Allowance Family Tax Benefit Part A. I brought it up as I know they introduced changes from the 1st of Jan 2019. After your PR was granted. I'm no expert on the matter so the changes may not include 'Child Care'.

Congratulations, very quick! Out of interest - Who was your MA? Also, you may want to look into the - Newly Arrived Resident Waiting Period - http://guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-law/3/1/2/40 Its been discussed on here before that you may need to wait a certain period of time from when PR was granted to obtain certain Child Support.

There is tabs along the top to change months. Your currently viewing April 17 I suggest you view the spreadsheet on a laptop or computer. Using your phone to view it is not ideal.
