  1. Yeah, its effectively up to yourself how you do it. I decided with the advise from MA to submit both at the same time. Mainly to speed up the process.
  2. As long as your still getting paid and employed through that time I cant see it being an issue. However I'm not an expert. Speak to your MA if you have one.
  3. Before my 186 was lodged, my MA asked me to log in to IMMI and obtain a medical Referral Letter. My MA took note of the reference no of the letter (HAP ID) and included it with my application. I haven't taken the letter to get the health check yet, as my application has just been lodged. Whats required: 501 Medical Ecamination 502 Chest X-ray Examination 707 HIV Test.
  4. The police checks / medicals could have expired by the time they look at your application. I think its down to the individual agent on whether they accept expired police checks or request new ones to be done.
  5. This. There is no point calling them to check on what batch they are processing as it means nothing. We have record of someone lodging on 22 Oct 2017 and receiving grant on 16 Feb 2018. Sadly, we all just need to be patient...which I know is harder said than done
  6. Yeah I agree, There is no way to predict or know when they will process your visa. The timescales they give out and processing times are not reliable to go with, as you can see from within this forum, some people have had their visa through after 5 months whilst others are waiting over a year. We all just need to sit tight and wait I'm afraid.
  7. I have had experience with different MAs over my time in AU whilst on different Visas. I do believe they make a difference to processing times. I'm not sure if the department will always favour more reputable agents - but in my experience it seems like that is the case. For example - 457 with a small agency in Sydney - took 6 months to come through. I then had another 457 with EY (Ernst Young) - back within 3 weeks. Just my observations based on my personal experience.
  8. They say that, but we have Visas granted way after April on the spreadsheet.
  9. I'm no expert, but the recent changes shouldn't effect your application if it was lodged in Oct of last year!
  10. This thread really is a tough read. Lots of peoples life's hanging in the balance. I really do hope the visas start to come though quickly - especially those who have been waiting for so long. My thoughts are with you all. My application has just recently been lodged - so I know I'm in for a long wait.
  11. Hi all. I have updated the spreadsheet to contain the details of my recent application. I didn't ask anyone to do this - hope that's okay? Looks like I could be in for a long wait....back of the Q for me
  12. Yeah all that is correct however it also allows for..... "The period of time already worked with the previous subclass 457 visa standard business sponsor might be considered towards the two-year requirement of the Temporary Residence Transition stream only in those cases where you are able to demonstrate that the nominated person has been working in the same role, with the same employer and in the same location for the whole two years they held their subclass 457 visa." ^ Taken from Gov Website.
  13. Thank you very much for your input Raul, very much appreciated. I understand the environment is very dynamic and subject to change. I'm liaising directly with my MA. Appreciate your help.
  14. Thanks CalNgary, I will do. They should already know that however as they were fully aware of our situation and this was their strategy to get us on PR. I will see what they say.....
  15. Thanks for your input Samson. My agent still insists that I can still apply immediately using the TRT Route. They respected worldwide company who I trust, so it seems odd that they would provide me with faulse information. I'm going to phone them to probe them on this. I had a quick a look on http://www.border.gov.au and found the following under "Temporary Residence Transition stream"..... "The period of time already worked with the previous subclass 457 visa standard business sponsor might be considered towards the two-year requirement of the Temporary Residence Transition stream only in those cases where you are able to demonstrate that the nominated person has been working in the same role, with the same employer and in the same location for the whole two years they held their subclass 457 visa." Maybe this paragraph is what my Agent is looking at??? Ill report back when I speak to them.....
  16. Anyone? My MA seems to think that time spent on my partners 457 visa will count towards the 2 year total as I was still working with my employer in the same role that I have just been approved a 457 for.
  17. Hi all, Recently just had my 457 granted. Below is my timeline: Nomination and application lodged together - 28th July Nomination Approved - 3rd Aug Visa Granted - 25th Aug Exactly 4 weeks in total. Very quick.
  18. Me and my Wife moved to Australia on her 457 Visa. I managed to find a job pretty quickly and have been working with them with no restrictions as I'm on my wife's 457 as the second applicant. Recently my wife was made redundant and her 457 subsequently cancelled. Luckily my work were able to put us both on a 457 - which was recently just granted. My question being - can we apply for PR immediately as I have been working in the same position and company for over 2 years? We have been given the below advise: "We have noted that if you are granted a 457 visa as a primary 457 visa holder under this occupation, you will have a pathway to PR under ENS Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream immediately as immigration department’s policy currently recognises periods of time spent working with nominating employer before the primary UC-457 visa grant can be counted towards the 2 year work requirement. It is important to note for those nominating an occupation under STSOL wishing to apply for ENS application under TRT stream, that the application must be made before March 2018. We will be working to getting your PR application lodged as soon as your new 457 comes through." Does that seem correct? Thanks in advance
