  1. Yeah we noticed that too. Hence we decided to inspect ourselves. There's gotta be a reason why houses are available for a long time in the market. They're either just too old or something's just wrong with it. Sent from my G8142 using Tapatalk
  2. [emoji32] Wow.. I did notice for one of the houses that it looked pretty fantastic on photo but when I Google it up on maps, the house looked really rundown. Now I dunno which is earlier (the pic or Google maps) and we definitely can't take the risk. Anyhow thanks for all the help rendered so far. I really appreciate it.
  3. Thanks so much Pom Queen. Really appreciate your help in asking on my behalf. After much discussion, my hubby has decided to stick to airbnb while we do self inspection when we land. Hope we can secure a hse within a week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks! I'll check this out too. Sent from my G8142 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks Pom Queen for the info. Grateful for your help. Would you mind to pm me his contact? Sent from my G8142 using Tapatalk
  6. Hello everyone. I am trying to secure a rental place around Glen Waverley, Melbourne from offshore and am looking for services to inspect rental places at a budget price. I saw an article on realestate that a couple got their rental place in Melbourne from Brisbane by paying abt abt AUD30 per hse. Do anyone know of such services available in Melbourne?
  7. Thanks Monks. The one who posted this news knew someone inside. Nemesis in a way is right to say that I may have put his or her job in jeopardy. I may have volunteered more information than I should. [emoji31] Nevertheless, I hope those waiting for grant would be happy to hear this news. I'm definitely looking forward to it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  8. Oh dear .. really not my intent to do that. Can moderator modify or delete my post in that case? ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  9. Hey everyone. Just wanna share some news I got from a chatgrp that I joined from another forum. This info came from someone who works for dibp. "All the backlog will be cleared by maximum oct. DIBP paced up their process in August and they have been given the target to clear all the backlog by end oct irrespective of the time lines given for processing. This is for all visa lodged before 1 July." At least something to look forward to if this is true. Yeay for us!
  10. Yup you're right. I agree as I lost 10 points just from the deduction. Otherwise my EOI could have been picked up way earlier. Nevertheless, I'm just grateful now to be at the last stage of awaiting for the grant albeit the long wait. All the best in your application!
  11. Congratulations!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!! So Sept move it is!
  12. Hi Andana, You will need to wait till the skills assessment results are out before you can confirm how many years are counted towards your points claim. I have 9 years of work experience in my occupation but ACS counted from the 6th year onwards as valid and as such, I could only claim 5 points for work experience. Don't overclaim as there have been a recent visa denial due to overclaim of points. You can get barred from applying as well. All the best
  13. Just my opinion. I'd bank on 189 cos simply, I can go whichever state I want. And as it seems now, 189 is being processed earlier than those on 190.
  14. Thanks. Praying for all those before me to get their grants too. There's too many simply waiting far too long. I'd be demoralised too if others after me got theirs before I got mine
  15. Wow. Your dates are very similar to mine. I'm starting to think they are prioritizing SA sponsorships first before the rest. Sent from my SM-T719Y using Tapatalk
  16. DIBP seems to be granting 189 more now. There's one grant reported today. Email received at 4.30pm oz time. Guy lodged on 24 Mar 2017 and responded to CO contact on 19 May. I think I'm going to put this thing aside and move on with life as though there's nothing happening. These things usually appear when u least expect it. 17. That makes lot of sense then! There's 3 applicants in front of me who have yet been granted a visa and there's another 3 behind me still. All of us are invited by NSW. I reckon they'll have to be granted first before I get it and I still need to factor in the others! If that's the theory, I am guessing I really have to wait out till next yr before I get my grant .
  18. One grant today for 190 lodged in Jun 2017 . Why are our grant pending for so long? My friends who applied in late 2015 and early 2016 had theirs approved within 3-4 mths Anyone else with grants today?
  19. Mine took almost a month! They only responded after 2 weeks and another 2 weeks to make an appt for fingerprinting.
  20. Hey sunscreen, sure. As of now I have abt 3 persons with similar dates as mine. I'll keep us all posted if there's any news of my grant. Really praying hard to get it quickly.
  21. Hello everyone! This is my first post in this forum. Been a silent reader of this forum so far. I can totally understand the agony of waiting. I'm waiting for my 190 visa from Sydney as well although may not be as long as some of you have. I lodged mine on 12th May. CO contacted on 22nd May to which I provided on 19th Jun. I lodged my application via an agent and so has been waiting ever since for the good news. A friend who lodged her 489 in Nov 2016 got her grant on 9 Aug. Since it was Singapore's independence day on 9 Aug, having the grant is akin to gaining her own independence [emoji23][emoji23]. Let's hope we all get our grant pretty soon! May this week bring more grants to us all!
