  4. Have a look on eBay for one of the practice books and practice practice practice. You tube has some videos showing techniques that may be of help on how to tackle the writing. Good luck with it. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  5. Are there any nurses on here that have applied to AHPRA. Can I do it before my visa comes through. As in the ID section it says if you don't have an Australian passport you can use an international passport with a current Australian visa. Does this mean I need to wait till I get the visa to apply to AHPRA? Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  6. Keep at it. Watch the hints on youtube and have a look on eBay for the practice books and practice, practice, practice! It's not an easy test even for native English speakers. Good luck with it Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  7. Your partners information will need to be put on your visa when you put in your expression of interest, and yes he will need to do a medical and criminal record check. Good luck with your IELTS Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  8. I've taken both in academic I scored 9 in all sections apart from the writing 7.5 so submitted that for nursing skills assessment. So sat the general to try get the 20 visa points and got the same results in that all 3 times that I sat it ?. So in answer the listening and reading may be a tiny bit easier but it depends on where your weak areas are. I ended up sitting the PTE to get my 20 visa points. 9. E2language.com has some good free videos on youtube that give you hints and tips on different sections of the test. I found them so helpful I payed for a package from them. Good luck with it. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  10. I've not done the Cambridge but I have done both the IELTS and PTE. I definitely prefer the PTE. I would recommend lots of practice for whichever one he decides to do next. Everyone underestimates how hard it is to score high in these exams, I payed for both the official persons practice with two marked practice exams and the e2language.com PTE practice. It was well worth the money. Good luck for next time. Sent from my SM-A310F using PomsinOz mobile app
  11. You need to ask the NMC to send a copy of your statement of entry to ANMAC. You have to pay the NMC a fee for this, the request can be filled in on line. I had to phone the NMC 3 or 4 times before they sent mine as they are very slow, I would suggest that you do this sooner rather than later ANMAC will keep it to put with the rest of your application if they receive it before the application arrives so it doesn't hurt to get it sorted early. Good luck with the IELTS. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  12. When you have taken your IELTS and got your results you phone the test center (can't remember off top of my head but I'm sure the number is on the certificate) and ask them to forward your results directly to ANMAC, they do it that oftern that they don't even need the address. Good luck with it all. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  13. Oh no [emoji22] keep trying 3 points is so close, you will do it next time. I just managed to get the mark I needed in all sections this time. Keep me posted on how you do next time I've got my fingers crossed for you. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  14. Good luck with your too. Let us know how you did when you get the results. Fingers crossed for us both. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  15. I have just sat my first PTE after failing the IELTS 3 times. I think I prefer the PTE but I did find it a little harder to manage my own time and ran out of time on one of the questions, fingers crossed it won't drop my score to much and I get the mark I need this time. I'm losing confidence. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  16. We are from Huddersfield and I went to uni and then worked in Leeds for a bit, planning on moving to Melbourne if I ever get a high enough score on the IELTS. Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
