Hi all, Am due to apply for my citizenship in 2 weeks time, please can I prefilled the forms online while waiting for the date for submission, this is due to the nature of my work as I don't have much time to sit down and fill it in a go and I don't want to take chances when no one can say what will happen in twinkle of an eye. To be candid and in my own opinion, people who are radicalised and not integrated into the society from history are those who either came here on boat or in general as refugee. We that spent money following the right channel (s) either studying or working visa(s) or even Skill migration are well screened before granted visa(s). Let's take the Melbourne recent terrorist case as an example, the guy came here when he was young, so as he not well integrated into the society? So the problem is not how long you are here to integrate but the willingness to integrate into the society, and most people who came here freely and hooked up public funds on arrival seems to be those who never appreciate what this beloved Country did for them and not we that contributed to the growth and development of the Country.

Yea that Thier choice not to be here when they were granted PR visa, and those are the people who are abusing the system, when you know you are not ready to move to Australia why do you applied for it in the first place.

In the first place they shouldn't have been accepting money for spouse of those who are applying PR visas who can't pass basic English, I mean the 4.5 requirement. So Immigration contributed to this problem aswell initially.

Nope am sailing in the boat as everyone does. What am saying is that it should be the old system for current PR holder's i.e legally lived in Australia for 4 years and with 1 year on PR. So what am saying is that it would be unfair for someone who have lived here for 3 years legally and maybe just 3 weeks away to be on PR for a year to qualify for Citizenship that have to now wait 3 more years to be eligible. This is why I said Immigration don't normally operate like this. It's should be for new granted PR holder's. Just my thought

Exactly this is what am emphasising on, it's still will be debated on those who are already on the old pathway, I can't imagine someone who is left with days to be qualified on the old pathway and now have to wait for years.

It's just my personal opinion, it would be unfair for someone with just 2 weeks or even couple of months away to apply under the old policy and now have to wait for maybe years before eligibility. Normally this is how it should work, but it's Immigration decision to donit that way. But ideally it's how it should be.

Well one thing that I do noticed with immigration changes in policy is that it dsnt usually affect those who are already the boat. I can still forseeable if you have already be granted PR as of today the old policy will still be applicable, i.e Temporary stay will be counted towards your citizenship and the 12 months waiting time. Just my thoughts am not am not sure

I don't think it will take too long for that to take place if it hasn't been in place. But I can for see if you currently on PR you will still be able to apply under the old policy of 12 months waiting time, just a thought am sure. But as for the citizenship test it as been made known since last year there will be changes in the test.

Well let's all wait for the information to be uploaded on Immigration website and not speculating.

I think this overhaul will be for those who are to be newly granted permanent residency in my own view. As some people are weeks away to make it a year on their PR and looking to apply under the previous policy. So let's just wait and see update on Immigration website before we know those who are affected.

It's not a decision ready application, but I can say I build a strong profile over the years. Cheers!

Timeline: Applied nomination and visa: 21/11/2016 Doc Requested: 30/01/2017 Doc submitted: 24/02/20017 Called immigration for update: 27/03/2017 further Doc requested: 29/03/2017 Visa granted:30/03/2017. wish you all best of luck
