Ive booked my IELTS again for October (general this time) to try and bump my score up to 75!! Anyone else in a position to do the same?

Yes, you're right there. How many points do you have? Im a nurse & my husband is an electrian but were going on my visa as it was alot cheaper to get my skills assessed, rather than his. We have 65 points

Im a community nurse with 65 points also...weve gone 3 rounds without an invite yet and stats show that were unlikely to get an invite until April 2018 if they dont increase the numbers over 1,000 a round. Ive just booked my IELTS again (general this time) to see if i can get all 8's which will bump me up to 75 points

Ive decided not to do my English again...really fed up now. So much so, i've booked a trip to New York in Jan. The processing times have been increased too

We submitted ours with 65 points at end of July - Community Nurse. Not heard anything yet...they've suspended a few occupations heading for QLD but nurses aren't included in it...so it may speed things up a little

Yes, i know that the waiting times to be accepted for EOI are long for the 60 pointers, even the 65 pointers are looking at a few months. Have you thought about resitting your IELTS to gain more points? This is an option for me.

Occupational ceilings have been released. They're only letting 1,000 189's in for each of the rounds in August too!!

I did academic IELTS and needed a minimum of 7 across all aspects and found it difficult the 1st time. I passed the 2nd time but i would just advise you to practise, practise, practise!!

Our agent used a courier, it got there it around 5 days i think. Mine took 10 weeks from them receiving it in May to LOD in July x

Thought it might be helpful Update on Occupational Ceilings for 2017/18 --------------------------------------------------------- - DIBP is anticipating publishing the 2017/18 Occupational Ceilings next week - The SAME occupations will be pro rata as the 2016/17 program year (we do not know numbers until next week) - 489 (family sponsored) visas will continue to only receive invitations if there are extra places left after all the 189s have been invited You are welcome to share this update with FB friends

Hi Zoe, I'm also a nurse but we've used an agent to sort out our visas. Best thing to do is book your IELTS (i failed 1st time!!) and request your NMC documents to be sent to ANMAC and AHPRA (they'll keep them on file until you apply). Also request your transcripts from Uni to be sent to ANMAC. My ANMAC took around 10 weeks to get a positive skills assessment. Your partner will go on your visa and will need his own medical doing. You'll also need to gather evidence that you've been in a relationship for over a year (utility bills in both your names etc). We submitted our EOI a couple of days back but didn't get invited in the 1st round, i think theres a bit of a backlog or something... Hope this helps!! Gemma x

Its 12:00am on 26th July Oz time which is 15.00pm our time 25th July. Our agents havent updated us as of yet

Ours was submitted yesterday. Im a nurse with 65 points. Wonder if we'll get invited today or wether its going to be a long long wait. We'll see...

We live in Hull (Yorkshire) and our migration agent is based in Chester (Cheshire). We visited them for a consultation following a seminar but everything now is done by email and secure postage

We're heading to Brisbane...central(ish) initally until we find our feet ? x x
