  1. On the new 491 visa, if a visa holder was offered a place at the University of Queensland which has a main address in Brisbane BUT they would be only studying in the Gatton campus which is in a regional postcode, would this be allowed?
  2. I'm looking at this list but the uni address is within the cities top list..I presume that this means they wouldn't be able to attend there? Apologies if I'm being really stupid!
  3. Thank u ..yes I think I will..I'm 41 so have a bit of time but hate leaving things to the last minute..points wise only have 65 and with the recent changes it seems to be getting more and more difficult..next year I will have 70 points as further work experience...don't mind where we go initially but concerned about going on any visa which isn't PR or wouldn't lead to it as I have a family.
  4. Just to clarify ..Perth isn't classified as regional is it? Looking at the postcode list
  5. Had the idea initially about 3 years ago but due to family circumstances it hasn't been the right time to move..hoping to move end of 2021..seems like ages away but like to be organised! Just they seem to be making things more and more difficult
  6. Thank u everyone CSU in wagga wagga has the course didnrt think about the campus addresses ...purely the unis main address..and happy to live anywhere initially
  7. Thanks..unfortunately those unis don't do the course they want to do ..shame because I believed that all of WA was regional...don't mind where we go
  8. Anyone have any ideas as to how to get a job offer for a 491 visa which in order to get the job offer you need to have a visa! Mind scrambled
  9. I have searched the Australian unis but cannot find any that are in a regional area but not in the city postcode exemption..ie. Perth is meant to be regional but the unis are in the city..not for me but for my child..anyone have any ideas?
  10. Thank u for your replies..I guess that I will just have to wait and see..I was hopeful that the 191 regs would not include age as the preceding 491 would.
  11. OK thank u for replying..so obviously under 45 ,for 491 but also still under 45 for the 191 which comes into play 2022? where can I find this info to read?
  12. So..if I was offered a 491 visa..after 3 years when applying for the permanent visa would I still have to be under 45? I have looked everywhere for this info!!
  13. Hi, I am a bit confused by the new partner points awarded..so I've submitted a new EOI today, it added 5 points as my husband has a UK passport and I put in his DOB (Over 45), it added the extra points but then said something about confirming is under 45?!..does this mean we are entitled to the points or not?
  14. Totally agree..it seems as soon as you get near they change the goalposts
  15. Thank u, do u know how I go about doing that?
  16. So my daughter has junior RA and although has no active disease now she will be on a medicine called benepali (entanercept) and will probably be on it for another year. I know this is quite an expensive drug so I'm wondering whether it will exceed the price threshold? Has anyone had any experience of this? Thank you. Ps no invitation as yet just wanting to know options
  17. This is what I though but cant find any info..the initial visa is under 45 but the follow on doesn't say?
  18. So I know the 491 visa has an age limit of 44..i cant find any info about the subsequent 191 visa..does that also have an age limit? On another point it seems that the Australian government want to reduce the amount of initial permanent visas..is that correct?
  19. Really? That's great thank you
  20. Two would really like to join the police service which u can only do as a citizen otherwise no rush
  21. Maybe the last two years though might count if not leaving aus when finished uni? And then stay in Australia following uni? Then they'll just need another 2 years?
