  1. Would love to . My family are at the start of the process and are panicking that the clock is ticking . My wife is 42 and main applicant on a 491 visa
  2. No totally understand . Where are these posts with agents in ?
  3. Tbf it may be the current climate . We have had correspondence from them but initially got in touch about 6 weeks ago . Last thing we heard from Wendy who seems really nice was that she had passed it up to their manager to have a look at
  4. Hi there , just after info on the best migration agents to use. Have emailed go Matilda a while back but as yet not much back . Many thanks . Oh and it’s for permanent residency
  5. It doesn’t seem to have head teacher on it but I definitely saw it . My wife still has regular teaching experience though
  6. No none of the above yet but have contacted go Matilda who are getting back to me Monday .
  7. Hi there , it’s been a while since I posted on here but am after some advice . My wife is a primary school head teacher who still is involved with teaching on an irregular basis and holds senco qualifications and mpqh which I am told is the equivalent of a masters . We have recently seen primary head teacher on the skills list and we are not sure what the next best step to take is . She filled out the eoi yesterday but are there any websites that could give us a step by step guide and are we best going through a migration agent or not. We are 40 and 41 with two children and are looking at the 190 visa if possible . Any advice would be appreciated .
  8. No chance of cross referencing unfortunately. This is why I have to consult an agent which I have done today ?
  9. That’s the exact answer I’m looking for and also what , if any other visa options are there. Have made initial contact with an agent now as well . Many thanks
  10. Was looking at houses just the other day in mindarie. Love that place. You get a pretty decent beachside ( not quite sea view) property with pool for 550k plus. With the equity in our house and money we plan to save reckon I may be ok with two wages coming in. If my wife gets back to teaching may be looking 200k plus. Problem with perth for me is there are not many opportunities in my industry there at the moment although hopefully this is changing. Two design houses already moved there this year
  11. Brilliant response, thank you cal.
  12. Don’t see it as a grumpy response at all . People assuming you can’t afford things just because you don’t currently have a fountain of cash to fall back on due to other things can come across as slightly demeaning
  13. I agree 100k is not a massive amount but pretty decent in comparison to degree educated primary teachers where the top the band I just looked at is 103k. I was told by an rev agent last year I would be looking at between 110-125k dependent on experience of which I have 10 years . Im also envisaging as we do here both my wife and I would be working . I am indeed interested in the opinions of people who live there but the people who had initially posted didn’t seem to interested in answering my actual question which is fair enough but then don’t treat the person posting as ignorant or lacking in knowledge when my initial question didn’t broach subjects that I got responses for. I have a few cousins who live out there also so my breadth of knowledge on oz although not complete isn’t bad. Responses where people fill in gaps that the poster hasn’t alluded are sometimes unnecessary
  14. I wholly agree it won’t be an easy process and understand re some jobs , ie electricians requiring additional training over in Australia. This is not the case with a signalling designer as the licensing scheme is global . It’s the irse in the uk and it’s the irse in oz of this I have done my homework and I would be seeking employment from the uk. There were Australian companies over in the uk in April interviewing for positions in Australia as people in my role are rare. I would not need to pay for any additional qualifications etc. I must admit I haven’t fully looked into the costs , the emphasis is on the fully as have been skimming this website for years and have had subscriptions to Australia New Zealand magazine since god knows when. Have also known people In my industry who have emigrated and since last year have been in touch with Australia based recruitment consultants. I do have a rough understanding of what’s involved due to looking into it over many years. Figures of between 10-20k don’t put me off and the fact I have a job to go to negates the need to panic. My wife not having a job does worry me slightly but supply teaching may be an option in the initial stages providing she is ok with that. She has ideas to do something different as said before. Overall I am still confused re my first question and that is that if I move jobs what other visa options may be applicable to me ??
  15. Apologies http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/0/D3D592C42FFD2E54CA2575DF002DA76D?opendocument
  16. Have a look at the download above very stormy
  17. Who said I wasn't going to use an agent? Jesus is this a wind up lol. Don't get me wrong have spoke to people who have gone without using an agent but I'm sorry you found it so difficult, I suppose those forms can be a little heavy if your not use to being able to disseminate information . Wont underestimate the changes but I will apply when I want to apply but will keep you up to date. Thanks for the advice re points but will also seek professional advice from an agent as I've been given some duff advice off this site before. Very useful at times mind you. You will have to let me know where you have seen the info re license as I am 99% sure that is not the case but am here to be proved wrong. I think it may be useful if you look into what a railway signalling designer does. I know electrical engineers with PhD's unemployed here as well. Have done a bit of homework re cost of living and reckon I will be ok. Don't plan to be the sole earner when I'm out there. 100k is higher than a primary teacher who's average salary is 60k https://www.payscale.com/research/AU/Job=Primary_School_Teacher/Salary. I do think there are certain people on here who prefer to knock rather than build people up. I suppose that's where the term whinging Pom comes from. What part of oz do you live in very stormy if you don't mind me asking?
  18. I know it is and has since the end of last year. I will take my chances and if it doesn’t happen it wasn’t meant to be . The process will start in earnest next year and I may end up living in Tamworth as opposed to toowoomba but I will give a pretty good effort . As said money is ring fenced for this year for about 20k worth of holidays and have never got anything on credit if I can help it and witb this I can help it
  19. Cheers dt55, My route to pr has been on the list since the beginning of time itself (233311) and I would envisage will continue to be on the list for many years to come. My industry doesn't train people en masse. Really just need to know what the situation is re other visas apart from 189,190 et al if I change careers as I can't find planners ( possible career move) on the list. Re money we have a few holidays booked up that have to be got past first. Florida in April being the last of them. Once they are out the way the world is my oyster ?. As said would like to be in and settled in my early 40's (40th is two years away .....) . Unless you are in my industry it's hard to explain how rare signalling designers really are and most of the world is full of railways that need to be signalled in some firm or another. Another reason as to why it's fairly well paid for the work we do.
  20. My question was solely re visa options everyone and although I appreciate most comments really do think that some people should stop being so negative until they know the whole story. Marissa you probably knew a fair part of that story from my post before. The info you have passed on re experience was not bonafide either as happened before when you were adamant that my job needed a degree . As said I truly do hope you have already made the move. I am not going into the process with eyes closed and have done a fair bit of research over the years .
  21. Thanks amber will get in touch with them
  22. IRSE licensed, the I is for rare as rocking horse poo and international ?. Please read above re finances. As said I'm a man who likes to plan what can I say. I planned my whv for 3 years.
