  1. Yes like you I was surprised to find it cheaper to have a return ticket. Good bit of info.
  2. Have a look at the form 80 while your waiting and fill in as much as you can because when the email comes through asking for police reports, medicals etc it can be quite stressful trying to get everything together. If you’ve had a lot of different jobs trying to remember what month and year they all started and finished isn’t always easy. Also every holiday you’ve been on in the last 10years or if you travelled with your job every time you went out of the country. We are hoping to get our visa the beginning of 2020. You’re so right when you say it’s so isolating without these posts. Keep smiling. Shelagh
  3. It’s difficult to predict really but my guess is around the beginning of 2020. That’s 5 months from when we got the email to start the next stage and looking at time lines it’s usually 5/6 months. It’s beginning to feel real and exciting...
  4. Hi Patience, my son and daughter in law done identity first and then the Aos on my gob. All on the 9/8 and were given a completion date of 20/09 but they weren’t sure if the date was just when they would check their doc by or to let them know if they had been successful. We are not expecting our visa until around Jan/Feb 2020. I know they have started the call for docs but looking on time lines over the last couple of years 6 months is about average. X
  5. The Ballies!! Just as well you have a timeline as you put 2015!!!! I think it was just finger trouble... but made me smile... knowing it’s really 2016
  6. Done... Sorry hadn’t even noticed I didn’t say what visa we were applying for.
  7. It must be so frustrating for you.... being so close but just out of reach. I really hope you get Good news soon... and can start using those sunnies
  8. Hi Tulip 1, If you read her timeline she applied Nov 2015 and has already been contacted for medicals etc. so I’m not quite sure what’s being asked?
  9. There was a lot of confusion going on around the time your application would of come up for a case officer. NYORKSGRANNIE applied on the 9.4.15 and got request for docs etc. on 20.10.17 but Ray and Geri applied 23.4.15 and didn’t get request until 24.4.17. It was also when they tried to introduce the new requirements for AoS, causing even more problems. If you look back on pages from around 606 and a bit before you will be able to check time lines and might find one nearer to your date. I know Ray and Geri contacted Immi but can’t find the post at the moment, perhaps you could contact them via the messages and find out who they contacted. They have a post on page 606 24/4/18 if you click on their name you will get more info. I hope someone can help you very soon
  10. Thanks Bridgie, I will email when I receive the translation and if it comes back, I’ll apply on the paper application and send to Madrid. It might take a bit longer for the visa but we can’t go until all the dogs paperwork is completed anyway, which takes 6 months. Daughter in law and granddaughters are visiting for the 3 kings anyway. Shelagh
  11. I think they are saying applications lodged today are estimated to take 50 months before they reach the top of the pile to start the next process of verifying documents etc. they can’t give you a time for completion as everyone’s case is different and some will take longer to verify than others. If you look back at previous pages you will be able to see how accurate or not they have been with there assessment dates in the passed. You will also be able to look at time lines of a lot of the applicants giving you more information as to how long ASO took to be granted. It’s a waiting game with no crystal ball. Passed pages also give you a lot of information about moving firms, insurances, flights, some info on what to do when you arrive, bus passes, clubs to join etc. A lot of people only read the current posts and miss out on all the information that is available on the hundreds of pages before. Enjoy the read. Regards Shelagh
  12. I’ve messaged you Linda. But for anyone else Millennium Costa Rica Madrid. Excellent hospital and doctor. They can’t tell you if you’ve passed but she did say if they found a problem she would phone and let me know.€189 each
  13. Thank Rosiejaq for the info but we don’t have those options on a Spanish form. If it comes back I will apply again but post it to Madrid with a covering letter requesting my maiden name be added.
  14. Hi Micheal S, My son and daughter in law submitted on the 9/8 and were given a completion date of the 20/9, they’re in Adelaide. I know some people have waited 6 months and others just weeks. It would be nice to think they have improved the system. Shelagh
  15. I'll just have to submit mine without it and hope for the best as there is no where on the paper application or the electronic application to put a maiden name.
  16. We’ve just completed our Spanish police report and are in the process of having them translated, there is nowhere to apply for it with my maiden name. What country are your police reports for? We sent colour copies via email of our passports and then they don’t need to be certified, we will do the same with the police reports and translations. I’ll let you know if my police report is accepted without my maiden name. Fingers crossed. Shelagh
  17. I understand what you’re saying Linda and agree that you shouldn’t submit them before you receive the request but familiarizing yourself with the forms.. where to access them, the information needed to complete them etc is a good thing to start early. Once you get that all important email asking for everything your mind goes blank and nothing seems to go to plan. I wish we had started the process of familiarizing ourselves with the forms and filling them in as far as possible while still waiting in the queue.....Keep Smiling. Shelagh
  18. Thanks Patience, that’s really interesting info. Makes sense of why some months move faster than others.
  19. Thanks Linda, yes that does help. I’ve found our local office on line and will check it out tomorrow. As you say .. nothing is easy in Spain... have to start the process with our dog once we have the police report sorted. Where in Spain are you? We’re on the Costa Blanca near Benidorm.
  20. I’m applying for police reports in Spain has anyone any experience with this? Thank Shelagh
  21. Hi Andreé, the information your looking at was scrapped last year. I don’t know how much your sponsor needs to earn to sponsor 3 people but the assurance of support bond is $10,000 for the main applicant and $4,000 for each of the other applicants over the age of 18. Hope that helps a bit.
  22. My son and daughter in law both went into centrelink to have their identity verified first and then submitted the form. Hope this helps.
  23. Now the fun starts, unless you were one of the sensible ones that completed their form 80 while waiting. So pleased for you.
  24. Hi Catherine you should of got 2 emails one was for the AOS and the other one contains pdf attachments at the very bottom of the email for you to download... these are where you will find all the info you need. Did the emails go directly to your son or to you? Good luck. Shelagh
