    Hi This is my first post to this forum, would appreciate ur valuable comments . My application for 189 visa has come to a stage where additional supporting documents have been requested by case officer . Precisely, I have been asked to submit PCC from overseas . In my case it is Malta and Bahamas, I have managed PCC from both countries. Now I am bit anxious about final visa grant. Would appreciate advise on following from seniors who have been through the process . -Since only PCCs have been requested by CO, does this mean that rest of my documents are okay. -Has my experience been accepted in full without any cross examination by CO . - AGW how long for visa grant Appreciate your comments Regard .     Hi My application with DIBP has come to a stage where additional supporting documents have been requested by case officer . Precisely, I have been asked to submit PCC from flag states . In my case it is Malta and Bahamas, I have managed PCC from both flag states . Now I am bit anxious about final visa grant. Would appreciate advise on following from seniors who have been through the process . -Since only PCCs have been requested by CO, does it mean that rest of my documents are okay. -Has my experience been accepted in full without any cross examination by CO . I am claiming 15 points and AMSA has mentioned more than 10 years on my assessment letter. - AGW how long for visa grant I am planning to join ship by mid July.     Hi , This is interesting and I am not able to find a way around it. May be someone with similar experience can help me . I have been asked to submit a police clearance from Bahamian police as I was employed on Bahamian flag ship. Now Bahamian authorities are not replying to my mails , either do they answer the phone call . On their website they say that non residents should send their request by post or apply in person . Apart from documents, the applicant must include self addressed return envelop . Now I have checked with all major Courier companies and they don't provide anything like international self addressed return envelop . Indian post also does not have anything like this . I am assuming Indian postal stamps are valid for outbound shipments and for domestic post . So putting Indian stand on envelop and sending it to Bahamas as self addressed return envelop would not serve the purpose .     Hi farmer, I think ur degree is an equivalent of graduation but not the actual degree. I guess it can be used to pursue further studies from Bombay university . Vetassess may not accredit it . Thats my own view , check with vetassess . Sent from my iPhone using PomsinOz

    On my skill assessment letter from AMSA it say that I have at least 10 years experience in maritime industry since my initial COC. I obtained my 2nd mates in 2002. Although I have been sailing since then but breaks between ships at more than one occasion have been for more than five months. Not sure if DIMP will consider my experience being equal to eight years in last ten years. Would appreciate comments from someone with Similar experience . Cheers

    Sorry divy can't help u with that . I have no idea about getting police clearance from Cyprus but it seems that procedure on DIBP is straight forward .

    Hi guys, I recently received an invitation to apply for 189 visa . Can someone who has already been granted the visa , advise about uploading documents on immi account . It is asking for certified copy of all documents , I Came across few threads on internet , where people have mentioned that only coloured scan copy is sufficient . can someone pls clarify . cheers capt .     Hi, I just cleared my AMSA orals for COR as Master . I will be applying for work visa as soon as I receive skill assessment letter from AMSA. Will update the Dropbox with questions in due time . Can someone please clarify me regarding work experience accessment done by immigration dep. Since most of us work on contractual basis , how the actual work experience is counted . Is it the actual seatime done on vessel or time time you have been employed by the company, i.e including the time u spent on leave . Would appreciate the help from someone who has actually applied for work visa . Cheers lali

    Hello, I will appearing for AMSA oral around end Sep'16 from Melbourne. My concern is with the medical as I have small kidney stone . Can someone pls advice if they ultrasound your abdomen . Coming to Australia and failing medical could be disastrous . regards capt Aman
