  1. I bet! Unsure A.T.M. on location, we went to Melbourne when we went over so possible the same kind of area, but it all depends on either (A) The job situation, so will have to be flexible on where we end up or (B ) Winning the lotto and not having to worry! (Which is my favourite option ) :D
  2. Yes, its been a lot of help, I still check in every now and again but it's my other half on here that usually posts and keeps me up to date with things. Our visit to Aus a few months back to activate the Visas was amazing, it's the next part thats the super scary bit, the move!
  3. From personal experience, I had no issues. But I guess my questions may not have been overly complex or I just was lucky? Either way we filled out everything ourselves and were granted. Sent from my Moto G (5) using PomsinOz mobile app
  4. We did the same. Just read everything carefully and take your time. Any questions email AUS house and they get back within a few days. If the CO thinks you need anything else they will tell you. Good luck!
  5. I would contact immi to ensure that there isn't any issues or not. We had a problem a few months back when part of our application went missing. You can do this http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa/Immi/immiaccount-technical-support-form They got back to us within about 4 days (2 excluding the weekend) and it was resolved. Hope this helps
  6. Just had our 309 issued. We have made plans to come over at the end of March 2018 for 3 weeks to activate the Visas and will be stopping in Melbourne in an Air B&B. It will be a fact finding break to see what areas we like (and can afford!) as well as visiting various employment agencies. So if nearer the time anyone wants to meet up just drop me a PM
  7. Well we are still looking at everything from flights to accommodation. A little frustrating as nothing can be booked just in case. Sure we will get there in time
  8. Medicals now through and accepted so thats was the last bit for us. Just uploaded and now the waiting game begins... again.
  9. Had our medicals last Wednesday and waiting for them to finished being processed. The police checks are through. Hopefully it will be done and dusted soon
  10. Sounds great, thank you! We will take you up on that drink when we get there
  11. Assuming medicals and police check goes through ok then we will be heading to the Melbourne area. We think its going to be around April time next year. Once granted then the hard part begins, finding a job and somewhere to live!
  12. lol, just to confirm as my partner just pointed out. She's Australian by descent not Austrian!! Damn auto correct!! I bet she doesn't allow me to arrange the shipping of our stuff now
  13. Many thanks. Looking at Melbourne area for the move. Hopefully somewhere nice depending on price. Possibly doing an air b&b to kick off with and have a couple of weeks to explore and relax before looking for work Sent using Poms in Oz mobile app
  14. Well looks like everything is coming through quicker than expected for us. We didn't use an agent, instead we closely read and reread the questions on the form. My partner has Austrian citizenship by descent. She is sponsoring myself and I have her 14yr old lad on my application. Uploaded various photos from 2013 to date showing myself and my partner together - 4 per year from 2012 2 years of mobile bills showing text messages and calls between us, not the content of, just the numbers to and from. Showed individual bank statements as we didn't have a joint account and highlighted relevant points including. Payments for partners car insurance and breakdown cover Holiday receipts Travel insurance policy Money going to and from each others accounts Two written statements from friends to say we were a genuine couple. As for the one year rule as de facto We had months living apart since 2012 but saw each other on a daily basis and this wasn't an issue for the visa. As long as you explain why, in our case we had separate houses (and utility bills etc) and we stopped over at each others regularly. 04/03/2017 - Submitted form 80. 11/04/2017 Asked to do police check and medicals - No other info required. These are booked for Mid-May. Will see what happens then.
  15. Thanks for the advice, the prospective marriage one is no good for us> When we get to the stage of marriage then we want it on own own terms in our own time. That visa basically forces it within the 9 months period and then you have to pay again to apply for the partner visa .
  16. Many thanks for the reply. I wonder if it will make any difference as we regularly stop over at each others respective properties? 6 out of 7 days, 3 at each. ( I get a day off lol)
  17. Hi all, Wondering if anyone can help with my situation? Hoping to apply for 309, partner has citizenship by descent but we don't live together. We have been together for 3 years and have recently gotten engaged (marriage isn't on the cards yet) We don't do family get togethers but friends and family can give statements and we do have things like a joint bank account, car insurance docs. Any advice would be greatly received. Thank you in advance.

Originally I was looking at the 190 visa but I will hopefully now be coming on a partner visa as my lady has citizenship already. Good luck with the exam and the job hunt and many thanks for the link, I will check it out.

Good luck with your move and exam as well! Don't you get points normally for being English speaking? The Oz fair I went too told me that as I was born in the UK and can speak English as my first language that I would get 10 points straight away. I was looking originally at the 190 Visa but may go for the partner sponsorship 47sp. Thank you for the heads up on the agent. I will check them out.
  20. Hi All, I've just joined and I'm stopping by to say hello. I'm half of a happy couple (Not married, hence Happy!) that are looking at moving over to Oz sometime in the not to distant future. (12 months -ish Visa dependent) I'll be looking for a network / Wintel sysadmin / I.T. role. If anyone knows of any possible suggestions of employment, it would be gratefully appreciated. It would seem that it is quite difficult finding anything while looking from over here in England.
