  1. Info I have is 149 per day which would equate to around 1490 for the ten days plus an out of hours handling fee of around 500 if flight arrives late
  2. Payment amounts are full pension for 6 months then percentage based on length of residency in Oz I get full pension hubby gets 86% paid 4 weekly in arrears into our uk bank
  3. Centrelink pensions are portable ie you can take them to Uk but you must be in oz to claim Rates depend on length of residency I think it's 35 years between the age of 16 and retiring in Oz We moved back to uk in 2012 I get full Centrelink pension hubby gets 86% based on our ages when we emigrated We also get part Uk pensions However my understanding is we would have gotten full Uk pensions if we hadn't claimed our Aussie pensions before we left Oz
  4. We took our cocker many years ago and he was fine Quarantine was 3 months back then and we didn't see him as he was in Sydney and we were in Adelaide He was in really good condition when he got to Adelaide had been well looked after and happy to see us He did for a while refuse to go outside without one of us with him gues he didn't want us out of sight again
  5. Thanks Bob I will contact you am a bit confused though as the company I have been in contact with have advised Quantas are doing a trial run at the minute which might not continue - that's routed through Dubai ? Could you pm me please so I can give you what I have been told
  6. Woozie it's my understanding Quantas route through Dubai so basically the same as Emirates ? Emirates will only fly snub nosed breeds up until April 30th then they stop them flying until October 1st I can really see paper being a problem We are long to fly our Shar Pei over mid April
  7. I am going to have not do the same thing with our boy later in the year but the flight will be to Adelaide Seemingly Jetpets are very good my son has had pups flown from Queensland to Adelaide without a hitch List the questions with your shipper too they are usually experts Who by the way do you intend to ship him with and what breed is he Ours is a Shar Pei so only certain times of year he can fly with Emirates from the UK
  8. It's times like this I think the true Aussie spirit shines as the help is overwhelming It will all take time but what's being done is a good start
  9. Hard decision and we won't leave our Pei as we have no family in the UK to look after him He is only 18 months now and very healthy so we can only hope and pray he will be ok
  10. Has anyone had quotes for a 40ft container from north east England to Adelaide just testing the waters to give us a ball park figure
  11. Thanks for that I have checked all of his tests etc out and he should be able to fly mid April - the cut off for Emirates is 30th April so his tests do make him eligible within that time frame phew Thinking now we will ship him ahead of us and my son can look after him There really isn't any other route for some reason Singapore has been closed off and Qantas will fly through Dubai but they are only doing a trial until February and it's not known if they will continue
  12. That sounds right for your situation are you in the Uk now if you haven't already claimed your UK pension doesn't it go up in 2016 for new claimants !
  13. Personally I would not pay the extra NIC as you will loose from your Centrelink pension if you are entitled to one Plus once you claim your UK pension it's frozen if you are living in Oz there are no annual increases for cost of living index
  14. We intend to take our Shar Pei to Oz next year but have just found out Emirates won't fly him until October 1st or after because he is a Brachileptic snub nose breed Seemingly Qantas is trialing flights with a short stopover until February 2016 but then it's a question mark if they will continue We were hoping he could go around July time now in a bit of a quandary Has anyone else come across this situation
  15. A very bad start to the bushfire season ,seemingly 3 lives have been lost Fire knows no bound we can only pray no more lives are lost
  16. We are in the process of getting out dog ready to take to Australia some very specific info on the website for importing animals into Oz main one was the rabies injection had to then wait 28 days and have the blood test when the test comes back ,it must be at a certain level , the declaration needs to be signed by an approved UK vet We were lucky our vets have two government authorised vets Dogs can't fly until at least 180 days after the blood test http://www.agriculture.gov.au/cats-dogs is the website
