  1. Yes, sorry I am new to this website....seems very busy with lots of categories. I of course didnt mean to post in "transport & shipping". I unfortunately used my mobile to do the post and I inadvertently pressed the wrong category. yes, basically looking to see if you guys have social events from time to time so we can meet up with likeminded people. I couldnt see anything listed for Melbourne or surrounding areas of Victoria. Could you please advise, as I mentioned before I am new to this and hopefully if I can find enough time, I will be able to navigate the website a bit more thoroughly. many thanks Cheers Margaret
  2. Hi Margie here....can you advise where to see all Melbourne events. Is it only by calendar, as I noticed there is only one bbq event and its in QLD. your help would be appreciated. Cheers M. ?
  3. We are heading down to Hobart for Xmas...been many times and love it!! Margie
  4. Hi folks...can you help!! my partner and I are contemplating a move back to UK. As mentioned, we have been in OZ for a long time. We were born in UK and worked until age 21 when we migrated. Want to go back to be with family and to live somewhere quiet to do permaculture. We both are dual citizens of OZ and UK. We have been naturalised as Aussies and hold OZ and UK passports. Q. What if any benefits, would we be entitled to if we return to UK. We are both near retirement age so would we get any form of pension, NHS benefits etc. - so we can weigh up our options. We would be as self sufficient as possible, that is, buying our home in UK, maybe a part time job (if thats at all possible) and trying not to be a burden on the UK. I am sure there are websites or Govt bodies we could search, but we are not familiar with any of this. Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Margie.
  5. Hi there.. We are new to website. Have been in OZ for 30 years. We are looking to see if we can meet like-minded people of our age group, around 50-60 age group. We have some Aussie friends but really like the rapport we have with the UK people. i am from Scotland and my parter from South of England. As we get older and kids gone, I guess we are getting a bit nostalgic for some old good fashioned UK banter and chats etc. Can anyone give us some assistance. We live in the Bayside area of Melbourne and also have a property we are renovating in Ballarat. Cheers Margaret & Martin.
