    7 weeks in..

Aww thanks for the update Mel25. I am leaving the 1st of May myself, husband and two children times is flying by and nerves are starting to kick in (would be worried if they weren't lol). Glad all went well for you, we are heading to mandurah Perth nice to hear the ups side, good luck may bump into you one day x
  3. Right ok just thought you had missed that, Iam also a nurse migrating in 7weeks! You do know you can take the General IELTS to get your visa point it's so munch easier but you do need 7.5 in each for AHPRA unless you prove you have been tight more than 5 years in English education. Don't know about your original question I used visa berau Iam sure if you drop them an email they would help. Good luck.
  4. Hello Larad86 just wondering if you sat the IELTS for your ANMAC?
  5. Hi Laura, sorry only now seen your post! Flying out the 1st may staying at the quest hotel in mandurah for 3 weeks hopefully going to use the first two weeks to take a look at some suburbs and schools before we decide where to rent, there are people I know in jondalup and they love it! Good luck with everything xxxx
  6. Exactly the same happened to myself, follow captain c 's advice and it will be fine I am sure. I was in one hell of a panic when the police check came back applied for the Acro and sent in the form to declare, sent the arcro when back which states every incident, time place etc but had my visa granted shortly after with no questions. Good luck xx
  7. Hi all, Emigrating 2nd May after a difficult decision due to family health, just wondering am I able to register my children in school prior to leaving? We are heading to quest in mandurah for short term accommodation so could I use this address? My children will both be in secondary school year 7&8 anyone know the catchment schools for this area as we will be living in mandurah when we get a rental. Thanks
  8. Hi, I understand totally how you feel, myself, husband, 13 year old daughter and 11 year old son are emigrating on the 2nd of May! Neither of us have a job, I am a nurse and we are heading for Perth where there is currently a job freeze in the public sector! Like yourself we have a very comfortable life in the UK so there are obviously financial worries. I am going to have a year career break in the UK as a back up plan. My feeling at the moment are we have come to far and worked so hard to get this opportunity. We have no choice to try it! I cannot sit here in 20 years times wondering what if! Personally we have thought about heading separately but I feel this is a new adventure that we need to start together as a family. Good luck with everything.
  9. Hi, as long as you go through it and add certified documents as requested you will be fine. Have you contacted the NMC and uni regarding the requested documents they need to send as this was an issue for May as NMC took a long time. Don't know if you will be fully able to register as you have no austrailian residential address so you may just have the letter of eligibility, as do most. think my took about 3-4 months roughly. Good luck.
  10. Fab thank you tickled pink easy when you know where to look haha in all my searches this has never been brought up! Looks like the nhs really apart from ambulance, dental, physio and eye care? We have to wait for treatment on the nhs so no different in oz by the seems of things. Think I will look for a basic cover for these additional things (only because of the brace situation) .
  11. Hi all, Yes that's correct emailed Ahpra and they informed me they no longer send documents to ANMAC. I did full ANMAC and applied to AHPRA once my skills assessment was through. Ali is correct ANMAC has changed their guidelines I was informed this by my agent. The answer is if not degree level then basically u won't get registration. Don't stress though cause I had any sleepless nights over Ahpra but found them to be very efficient! My case officer was very good and e mailed me at each progress stage. From sending my application to receiving in principle letter took around 8 weeks. Hope this helps.
  12. Hi all, Looking for a little advice on healthcare. We are a family of 4 emmigrating to Perth in May. Aware we need ambulance cover but wondering about private healthcare insurance. We are entitled to Medicare but can't really make head nor tail of what it covers! Are doctors consultations free? My daughter also wears spectacles and my son will need braces within the next 12months. Myself, children and my husband are in good health and we currently pay for dental and eye care in the UK but the children's are free. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  13. Yeah that's right sorry for any confusion it's five years in total! 12 months to activate this depends on dates of medicals or police checks.
  14. You have a year to activate from the time of your police check or medical whichever comes first, then you get a further 4 years to make the move.
  15. Hi aneltia think it's question 13 your asking about? I sent a certified copy of my degree certificate along with certified copies of certificates for each year of study which included all modules completed. Hope this helps.
  16. Hi I used visa bureau, started conversation in January and received our 189 visa in September. Cannot praise them enough especially sue tempany, always on the end of the phone or email to answer all my silly questions and guide us every step of the way. Good luck!

    Paperwork

Hi all, As some of you are aware Iam planning on emmigrating soon, just trying to set up a file with important documents and paperwork that may be required when I get to oz. Unsure of emigration date at present as some of you may know due to my mothers health but want to be sorted before she will require care and a great deal of my time.At least the I will be ready for the off when able.
  19. Hi all I have moved in with the in laws now in peperation for our move, just wondering do I need to inform the emigration department? I have my visa grant and Ahpra. My sister in law as bought our house so I don't want to change address on anything as I know she will pass on my important mail when I emigrate such as bank statements etc .......
  20. Yep I done the fit2work for Ahpra and the ACRO for 189 visa x
  21. Hi all, just wondering I'd any nurses have recently moved to Perth or surrounding areas, planning on emigrating with no job lined up but getting anxious due to the unemployment rates at present in Perth! Are nursing jobs relatively easy to come by as always something to apply for in UK, look on seek to get an idea but real experience would be great! Thanks all x
  22. Hi all just wondering if anyone has used halo financial for money transfers and how would you rate them, in a contract that needs to be paid in April and now getting worried as this is my life savings! U read so many things don't want to lose my money! Thanks all
  23. Hi Adrian and welcome, my professional reference included where I worked, full or part time employment, a brief job description , courses I have attended and a little character reference, signed and dated and on official letter head paper. If I remember rightly I photocopied it and had it certified and used the same one for Aphra! Not very in depth at all and no issues with it. It was approx two pages long! Hope this helps, good luck.. Loulou
  24. Thanks all, so just to clarify I can go ahead with opening a bank account, transfer the money as arranged in May, take my passport for identity checks in May during the activation of my visa, therefore I will be able to use some of this money for my short stay, come home for a few months and if I needed access some of my money from the UK (only in an emergency) and pay bills in Australia in preparation for my return? Getting stressed with all the changes I have to make!
