  1. Hi Wan2go, We applied on the same day - want to have a race?!! We've different case officers - mine never got in touch and isn't giving me their name though I've been told all is in order. I mistakenly did my police checks and medical in early January, so I may have to do these again. All I have to do now is decide whether I should postpone my marriage, which is booked for mid-November in Melbourne, when I thought the processing time was 5 months. When have you a wedding booked for? ... what an annoying thing to have to do when we don't know the time-frame!
  2. I feel like medals should be awarded along with our visas. This is definitely a test of endurance, patience and stamina. I'll email the embassy with the request -you all deserve one, lads! Navigation of bureaucracy is a top skill on my LinkedIn page. My partner does snore though, so I suppose while we're in different continents waiting for the visa, 5 - 7 months longer than we'd planned for (the website should really remove that '5 months' rubbish), at least I get to sleep without murdersome tendencies. Any other benefits ... anyone ...?
  3. They will tell you when they want you to do the medical and the police check. It will be around the 6 month mark. If you do them too early, you might be asked to do them again (like me), but also, the later you do them, the more time you will have to enter Australia by once your visa is granted. As the other person who replied said, you have to enter when they are vaild, and they are valid for a year. I'd recommend waiting until they ask, but it might all fit together if you do it now, but you're giving yourself less flexibility.
  4. I've been waiting for 5 months and I never heard from a case officer, and many people don't. You'll only hear from them if they want something from you, so if you don't hear, it means your application is complete. You'll hear when they want you to do your medical and police checks though, around the 6 month mark. You will get a standard letter though, which indicates your application and money has been received.
  5. You've probably already considered this, but just in case: do you have bank statements with weekly or monthly rent-sized amounts of money being sent to him by direct debit or standing order, or even large monthly cash withdrawals which you could easily explain were for rent? For my application, I printed out bank statements and highlighted the payments I sent to my partner. (I'm applying for a PMV though, and the burden of proof is lower) EDIT: OK, sorry I see you were referring to a visa where a decision has already been made. For some reason, I can't figure out how to delete this post, it's driving me mad, haha
  6. Me too, applied in late December 2014. Strange that others are getting different info. I emailed the European Service Centre, and they did reply saying that the waiting time was generally 10 - 14 months, but the way it was written implied that they weren't familiar with my case, and I don't think it was my CO replying. Another person who applied the same week as me was told 'December', so I'm expecting it to be 12 months, but feeling a little optimistic it will be quicker, even though I doubt it. I did submit with police clearance, medical and what I hope is a very complete application. We've heard nothing though, and no word of a CO either. Makes me nervous to hear that you were told emails had been sent but nothing had arrived ...!
  7. My time was 9-12 months, but my application went in on 22nd December, so that would have been during the rush before the price hike. Maybe it was a typo ...!
  8. Cheers. Yes, our paperwork was very thorough and I think our evidence was strong - and also they don't need much for the PMV anyway. It'll be hard to wait a year with no news and no update, but at least it's been suggested now that there's probably nothing wrong. I mean, I have a wedding to organise, and how am I suppose to do that with no idea when things are going to happen? From reading this forum, it seems the 10 - 14 months is quite accurate, although the letter I received did say 9-12 months - can anyone shed light on this?
  9. Hi, I'm new to this forum. I submitted my Prospective Marriage 300 visa online on 22nd December 2014, with all of the paperwork and medicals etc submitted over the next few weeks. I received the automatic letter stating my application was received, but I've heard nothing at all since the first day. I've no idea about whether we have a CO assigned. Is this very unusual? Other seem to have a case worker assigned within a short time frame. I've just emailed them asking. Thanks
