Hey one and all, Happy New Year!! Hoping somebody could shed some light on my issue. I am currently on a partner 309 visa (from the UK) and looking to enrol on a a TAFE course. I just wanted to know if I would be regarded as a permanent resident for the purposes of studying or if I would be classed as an international student. I know I wouldn't be entitled to government funding (which I don't need anyway) - it's more the enrolment fees that I am concerned about! The international student fees are sky high! I can can never get through to the colleges - probably because of the holidays, but if anybody has had a similar issues I would be very grateful for the advice! Thanks

Hi guys Yes it was just a straight forward application - just my husband (aussie) and myself. We did the application ourselves and submitted it on 22/01/15. LC was our case officer.

You as well @JTSpurs - oh why didn't I book Bali too! You and @Eifster are going to land in Aus looking all fresh and rested! @Eifster - yep heading to Melbourne as well. Initially going to be in the Keilor area with family whilst looking for a home of our own. Will have to go exploring all the areas. Hopefully it won't take long to find a job. I'm trying to not think about that bit at the moment! :-/ I'm sure it'll all work out fine though!

Exciting news @Eifster! Where in Melbourne are you heading to? My husband and I are booked to leave the UK on 4 November! Too excited to wait until my visa is actually granted! Wish we were going via Bali ... I haven't just turned into a green-eyed monster at all

Hey guys Just wanted to check with all the veterans how long it took for your medical to be uploaded onto your Immi account. I did mine a month ago and it's still not showing on my account. Hope that's not a bad sign!

Hi You should definitely inform them that you are applying for a tourist visa otherwise you risk overriding your spousal visa.

You're a week ahead of me then! I'll be glad to hear when you get yours The prices are awful! I was gutted to have lodged mine after the increase as well. Still - at least it's not too far off now. This forum has been so helpful - glad I found it!

Hey guys This is probably a silly question but… My Aussie husband and I are intending to book one way flights to Australia in November. I will be entering on a tourist visa and hopefully staying there until my 309 goes through. I’m just wondering if my one way ticket on a tourist visa is likely to cause us problems? Has anybody else had experience with this? Thank you

Hiya We applied online on 22 January and didn't hear from our CO until about 3 weeks later. Hopefully you will hear soon. Horrible when you are in limbo waiting to hear x

Hey guys! Just submitted my 309 online this week. Sill adding docs to it until I am signed a CO. Nerve-wracking business this visa stuff! Really happy for all you guys who have been grated your visas! Gives my husband and I hope!
