  1. Massive congratulations, enjoy the next chapter in your life, hope we can meet up later in the year.
  2. Hi Steve/ Odies/ Steely/ and I think Geordie Joe? i am flying out 1st November while waiting for visa, staying in Harriesdale, would be great to meet up. Bev
  3. Congratulations on your new job Alan, well done. You have been an inspiration with your positivity, I hope I can be the same.
  4. Congratulations, does it seem like it's been going on forever? Or now you have jumped the hurdle it doesn't seem as long?
  5. Good luck Julie, keep in touch on the site and let us know your experiences (good and bad) it's exciting and frightening all at the same time isn't it? ?
  6. Hi Alan Glad to hear you are getting sorted, hopefully your visa will be through shortly. Not sure if you have answered this query earlier, but have you been asked for the form 80, if so at what stage? I am flying out in November and hope we can meet for a drink and I can download your experiences and recommendations on various matters........cheeky I know.........but experience helps,
  7. Procedure very easy online application, grant came through in 5 days! You can enter the country up to 12 months from when granted, and stay for up to 12 months.
  8. Congratulations, keep updating ant info on new life you feel relevant please. hopefully I can also catch up with you in November 2016.
  9. Hi Alan I believe Bali is a good cheap destination, cheap flights and accommodation can be had. Bev
  10. Hi Julie i was advised by the flight operator to get a return ticket, and the difference in price is minimal approx £10, is it worth the risk being turned away when you arrive? It's getting close for you now, must be exciting.? Even if frustrating, but you are so close, keep your chin up. Bev
  11. Hi Lisa I am in a similar position, going out Nov on e600, until CPV granted hopefully mid 2017. I was advised by Flight Centre who I booked my flights with to book return, they reckon that immigration at airport can be quite tight, why would you not need a return ticket if you are just visiting. I don't want to give them any excuse to refuse entry. Also as Kathy said the difference in cost is minimal. Bev.
  12. Fantastic!!! Don't forget us though, keep advising and updating please . Good luck in your new future.
  13. I will be staying with my daughter in Harrisdale, do you know that? i will contact when I have arrived........be prepared for lots of questions!! Lol
  14. I have replies previously to someone else, I am going on an e600 tourist visa in November. I am only expecting my CPV visa through July 17, hopefully before, but...... On my e600 application I quoted a travel insurance with ANZ for a 12 month visit, and this must have been accepted, as my visa was granted. it only took 7 days to come through, very easy. Bev
  15. Please , please keep up on the forum, as Skeelsy does, and let us know your experiences. i have to ask........do you have a Harley? Have you imported? Etc, etc. I am a biker (not Harley) lol.. and already in touch with a couple of like minded people over in the Perth region, just curious if you have found a club or such like? Bev
  16. Hi I am just behind you in the queue, but I am going out on a visitor visa this November to Perth. I have a friend in Mandurah, it's lovely, and not that far away from Perth, I will keep in touch with the site, and if you let me know when you arriving we could arrange to meet up after you have settled in. As other members have said it can be hard to get into a social circle, but as 'waiting room' members meet and invite others to BBQ or other occasions, and depending who is there, it can start a new vine............ Not everyone gets along with everyone, but the more people's paths we can cross, the more we are able to make friends along the way........even if it not the original person we met. Keep in touch, I am sure we will soon be like the 2014 mob!!! I bet they feel like they know each other already? Bev
  17. I'll be there in November, can I join the 2014 club? Lol. Seriously would be nice to make new friends who have 'some similar experiences' ..........the waiting room.
  18. Heading to Harrisdale originally, haven't yet decided where I want to settle. I can sympathise with all the 2014 movers, as I am currently selling, boxing and shedding a lifetimes collection of..............allsorts! I am moving out of my house (which is now sold) end of May, and moving back in with my mother!!!!!!! Eeek!! Haven't lived with my parents since I was 18!! Only until 1st November tho' when I fly over (or under.....depending on your perspective) As as I will not have a CPV until June/July 2017, I will be on an extended holiday which I am hoping to fund by saving money being back with mother!!! Don't know how this will work out, but it is ensuring /allowing me sort out matters earlier, so hopefully a little less stress all at once when the move actually happens and when the Visa is due to be granted most things done. ( I'm hoping, anyway) What's that saying 'all the best laid plans' !!! I will check in and log my experiences, there is nothing like experience, bad or good, it might help others along the way to make future decisions which is right for them. it would be great to meet up with fellow PIO forum members, we will have to ensure it happens!
  19. Perth area for me, my daughter is currently living in Harrisdale and I will be staying with her until my visa is hopefully granted, this will give me time to see where I want to settle, and also see a little of the rest of the country hopefully, before I have to return to the working life! it is very exciting on this thread at the moment, nothing or nobody seemed to have moved on when I started avidly checking in, but now.............lots happening and moving on, I wish everyone the best of luck. Bev
  20. Hi to Steve and Phil, I know I am a long way behind but am going over 1st Nov (hopefully to not return unless on holiday) i hope you keep looking on the site and letting everyone know your experiences. Even when settling, it's a new life and experience counts. i hope we can all meet for a drink one day. Bev
