  1. Fantastic news, end of one era, the start of another! All the very best for your future. ?
  2. Nice to see everyone back, and the 'like' option has returned. I don't always have anything to add to conversations, but it's nice to keep up with the news. I feel like a stalker sometimes lol.
  3. Hi I didn't include the top half as it had my passport number and grant number, but mine is a 'Visa Class' Visitor (class FA) and 'Subclass' Visitor (subclass 600), then 'Subclass stream' Tourist, is there any difference there?
  4. Hi Lesley I am hoping that a photo of my grant is attached!! Lol, just so you can see the wording, perhaps I have it wrong?
  5. Hi Lynn I also lodged my CVP in July 2015. Last Feb, it seemed to be running about 22 months before grant, so I booked my flight, got a visitor visa, arrived in Nov 16 expecting to have approx 6 months to ensure that the country was totally for me before giving over a lot of money ( they don't give refunds if you change your mind)! Lol. It currently seems to be 30 months before it is granted, I am hoping they get back on track, it's very costly out here when you are not working. After being here with my daughter for only 4-6 weeks, I definitely know it is the right decision, I love this country and the people here. we will have to keep an eye on each other's progress. Bev
  6. Hi Geoff and Gill, you are just before me in the waiting room. I arrived on an e600 in November, this allows 12 months stay after the last date of entry and is valid for 12 months, so it could last you nearly 2 years if you leave AU at the end of the valid date. ( does that make sense) I applied for the Visa far too soon (feb16) as I booked my flights, so the visa expires Feb17, but as I went to Bali then re-entered Jan 17, I can now stay in AU until Jan 18. The Visa is easier to understand, I can scan and PM you if you like. I just booked ANZ travel insurance to cover me, and applied and received a Medicare card when I got here. (Reciprocal care with U.K.) i shipped out my goods on my daughters visa (even though the time her visa allowed unaccompanied goods had expired) it would not be allowed on a visitor visa.
  7. Hi Nita and all, I also have gone it alone, haven't had any problems up to now will let you know........., what are you dates of acknowledgment etc?
  8. Hi David Looks like we have a similar timeline. i hope everyone had a great Christmas and we all have a fantastic 2017!
  9. Hi Alan, have you any more waiting room reunions booked, I arrived a couple of weeks ago, no CPV just here on 12 month visitor visa. If you are meeting up, it would be nice to meet you.
  10. Wow, congratulations. where in Australia are you thinking of settling? I'll bet you can't wait. Just in time for summer and Christmas.........that doesn't sound right does it? Lol
  11. Hi Julie All seems stressful at the moment for you, but it will all work out, you just have to believe, it will all worth it in the end. ? We 2015 lodgers have this yet to come, and thank you for the forewarning of matters. The upside is you are already there, seeing family and gettting to know your new country. I am jealous!
  12. Hi Sue yes the police checks can be done online at a later date. I know what you mean about the time, I am only 6 weeks off going on the e600, I was only expecting to be waiting about 6 months for the CPV then I could join the working community again, I will have to be a little more frugal than I initially expected! Can't wait though.
  13. Fantastic news!! Oh so long coming!! Please keep us informed on your progress.?? Heres to your new life to come ? Julie.....not long now!
  14. I have an e600 and am going out in November. I just booked ANZ travel insurance and this has been accepted.
  15. Welcome to the waiting room........I am just a single person (unfortunately) who can't wait to be out with my only daughter and son in law in Perth. There are lots of people's experiences to pick up on here, keep logging in and get great tips. I'm not sure if there is anyone else Melbourne bound, but I am sure when someone see's your comment, they will make themselves known. Its a long wait isn't it? But up to now I have been busy selling the house, selling most of my goods and generally organising my life for the move. I am going out early on a visitor visa and having a partial gap year!! It will be nice to see Australia before I settle down and start working again. Regards Bev
