  1. I don't think I could wait until December! I'll probably sort out a tourist visa or something first, just in case. My fiancée is from Northern NSW so anywhere from there up to the Gold Coast probably. You?
  2. I was at the the start of November, I'm crossing my fingers it comes in before October as that's when we're wanting to go to Aus.
  3. I was quoted 10-14 months which isn't really much help! I'm hoping for 11 months at the very most (when we're planning on going) but we'll have to wait and see. I think the wait is 9ish months at the moment but last August I believe they bumped the estimate up from 8-9 to this 10-14 months one.
  4. After the start of May, which is lucky as I'll be in the UK around then so I should be able to get it all sorted.
  5. OH is mine too, he's been really helpful so far. Glad we've managed to get to the bottom of this, although it sucks that that's the case. The time we're looking at going to Aus is about the same time my visa should be granted, so I'm hoping I don't have to go to NZ a week after I get to Aus or something!
  6. I see what you're saying, that it may only apply to people who have spent 2 years on the 309. I looked around but couldn't find anything specific so dropped my CO an email. Hopefully they can clear it up as it would be good to know. UPDATE - OK, I heard back from my CO, basically you still have to be out of the country even if you've been put forward for the 100. Here's the full reply: To clarify, all applications for partner migration made outside Australia are for a subclass 309/100 visa, which is a two stage visa. If an eligible person meets the conditions for the 100 visa as well as the 309 visa at the time of lodgement then DIBP will usually grant both visas concurrently. However a 309 visa must always be granted first even if the 100 visa is granted directly afterwards. As such you will need to be offshore when I grant your partner visa. I hope that clears up any ambiguity in the wording on our website.
  7. I've not heard this before, is that true? The way we're heading over I might be a bit too early for my visa so may have to go in on a tourist one. However, my CO advised me I was being put straight through for a subclass 100 so if I don't have to leave Aus for a few days that would be amazing! Edit: I can't believe I missed that, it's right there on the page! http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/309-100.aspx
  8. Hi all, it's been a while since I posted on here as I'm just twiddling my thumbs as far as my visa is concerned! Interesting to hear the wait for December applicants is now 12 months, I applied at the start of November and we're looking at arriving in Aus at the start of October this year, so fingers crossed for an 11 month wait. Anyone else applied around that time? Also it's shocking they put the fee up by 50%, I feel bad for anyone who was about to apply but missed out before it went up.
  9. I forget exactly what he said now but he certainly hinted it would be closer to the 10 month than 14 month mark, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!
  10. Blimey, just got a call from my CO! That was really quick, I only applied 2 days ago. I think it had something to do with me uploading most of my stuff straight away. No medical stuff before 4th May for me, he quoted the usual 10-14 months but that hopefully it'd be within 12. Exciting!
  11. Hi @Lainey85, have a look here: http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/309-100.aspx and make sure you read the Partner Migration booklet, that's pretty handy. It's hard for us as we don't really have anything jointly (no bills, leases or even bank accounts) so we're just using other stuff that shows we have both lived at the same address, etc. but if you have that stuff it will help. I'm going up upload a couple of photos but from what I've read they don't count for much. Basically anything that shows not just that you've known this person for however long you say but that you are actually in a relationship too. We've been engaged since March this year but have been together just over 3.5 years so I'm hoping we have enough evidence, we just don't have the really obvious stuff so hopefully that won't hinder our application.
  12. I finally submitted my application last night for Partner Visa 309/100! Was hoping to do it over the weekend but for some reason the system was down. Now to get uploading documents. With the 60 item limit, is that in total for applicant and sponsor or do they get 60 each?
  13. Cheers Ozmaniac, that's pretty much what I thought about the Police/Medical stuff. I didn't realise you don't need to get your documents certified if you're applying online, that's brilliant.
  14. Oh it is beautiful, but I fancy a change. My fiancée is from Australia and we've been living together here for a few years, now we've decided to live in Aus permanently and start our lives there properly. We visited a couple of years ago (I was on a Working Holiday visa) to the area she's from (Byron Bay / Brisbane) and fell in love with the place.
  15. Hi all! I've been reading through some of the threads on this forum as I am about to apply for a Partner Visa (my fiancée is Australian, I'm British). I had a couple of questions that I can't seem to get a definite answer to on the Immigration site. First up, when I apply for the visa do I need to have my medical and police checks sorted first? From what I've read the 309 can take over a year now to get and I understand they could be out of date by then. Secondly, with the medical checks do I need to go to a specific place in the UK to get this done? Being on the Isle of Man it is going to be a pain, but I guess I'll have to head over to England if I want it done! One last question, have many people applied online for their visa? Do you need to scan all the certified, etc. documents in or must they still be physically sent away to London for processing? Thanks! And I'll keep you updated on my application, probably in that GIANT thread I spotted...
  16. I am! Just signed up as I'm looking at applying for the Partner visa very soon.
