I'm going use the excuse that I've already booked flights in November (which is 12 months for me) and want to know whether I should apply for a tourist visa waver.....

People seem to have had some success by emailing for an update once they hit 10 months. That's certainly my plan anyway!

We booked it ourselves in the end Garuda to Bali and then Jetstar onto Brisbane

We arrive on the 12th November.... That'll be over 12 months by then so it should be fine....

We haven't booked anywhere in Bali itself yet but we've paid just under £1200 for the flights so I reckon we'll be in the same ballpark as you once we book accommodation. I'm fairly confident I'll have my visa by November so super excited now. Thanks again for the advice. I'd have never realised you could do it so cheap if you hadn't have mentioned it in you posts!

Well thanks to advice from Yorkshire123 we've booked our flights to Oz! Flying at the start of November stopping for a week in Bali! Now if only I had a visa.....

Hi Lozzzz74 as others have said I also have DP and have had no communication since the initial letter. I waited around 5 months (ish I couldn't wait!) and did the medical and police checks off my own back. I also applied on the 4th Nov. That makes 3 of us now that I know of! Finger crossed for all of us.

Just out of interest Yorkshire123 where did you find the deal via Bali? We're looking to do something similar when we fly out at the end Oct/Start Nov.

I'm a bit worried about that too! I don't think I'll do anything without speaking to my case officer first....

That was our plan originally but I'm hopeful now of a visa grant in August or September so we won't have that issue. We haven't booked our flights yet but are planning on end of October whatever happens as we have a family wedding to attend. If it gets to September with no grant I'll contact our case officer (DP) and start making evistor arrangements.
