  1. My husbands visa was granted today. He got the 100 straight off. 8 months and 18 days for us. We emailed our CO last week as his Police clearance expires at the start of February and received a reply to say that the Visa would be granted this week or next week and true to her word it has arrived just now. We have flights booked for next month, our son has been enrolled in his new school and our boxes are here waiting to be packed so we best get on with it
  2. Congratulations CarlyLouiseWhelan, I have been quiet on here of late but have started paying a bit more attention once we hit the 4 month mark. Alot of grants have been coming close to the 9 month mark so to see someone has been granted at 8 months and 11 days gives me hope that ours will come before Christmas. We submitted 4 days after you and I can see there are a few of us around the 20th, so fingers crossed for us all xx
  3. I paid by bank draft so I'm not sure but I did ring the general number a few days later to confirm receipt as with a bank draft the funds went out of my account as soon as the bank drew up the draft so there was no way to tell it's been received. If you are worried give them a call.
  4. It's so much more real once you have bought the tickets isn't it We ended up booking ours over the phone with Singapore Airlines as we wanted to stop over for 4 days also, online it was only giving me the more expensive fully flexible option if we wanted a stopover. Also we wanted specifically to fly on the A380 as there is 4 of us and we wanted to sit together. Our fare with the stopover actually ended up being about £30 cheaper than the cheapest online flights (with a 1 hour layover) which was odd but I'm not complaining. The visa holder can get 40kg of luggage but they said you had to show an unstamped visa so as ours are electronic I'm not clear on how that works.
  5. I rang the Consulate to confirm whether we needed to provide bank statements etc as I was concerned that the fact I have been a stay at home mum for the last 2 years may go against us as I am the sponsor. They confirmed that it would not go against me and that applicants 'no longer' needed to provide any financial details, so I assume you used to have to provide it but no longer do. On a similar note does anyone know if we need to show proof of funds on entry? We are using some money I inherited from my grandmothers estate to set ourselves up when we arrive but I have given this to my dad for safekeeping as we are terrible spenders, just wondering whether I need him to transfer this back to me.
  6. Our UK Police Check expires before the date our flights are booked (though we can change our dates), we are just thinking we can apply for a new police clearance and submit it before our visa is granted that this will change the date we have to enter Aus by as our other documents are dated later, does anyone know if this is the case or is it more complicated than we think?
  7. Congratulations helenmooshap, it's nice to see that some are getting there visas before the 9 month mark hits, we are married 8 1/2 years and have 2 little ones too!
  8. Grabri, we have booked through Singapore Airlines, they have a 'Flexi Saver' fare which were slightly cheaper than the fully flexible tickets, these are not fully flexible as there is a $80 USD charge if you cancel and also if we do have to change our dates and there are no cheap seats left then we may have to pay extra but we are fairly flexible on dates and have our fingers crossed that we don't need to change them.
  9. Congratulations TheEscapePlan! Like aussiejo we have (flexible) flights booked at 10 months so I have been stalking this thread for current grant times and have been so disappointed for you all last week when there was no good news for you.
  10. Congratulations NaomiSimone, I came on here today expecting there to be lots of lovely grants! Those who have been put off yesterday, hopefully they are giving you 'worse case scenario' time frames so that it's not a case of the saying 'maybe next week' and risk you calling again every day next week iykwim ;0 Fingers crossed the calls have flagged something and they will come through soon
  11. Congratulations Wozzygirl & Thetipper!!!! Great to hear that (with a nudge) they are sticking to the time frame.
  12. Wow, looks like you guys are almost there! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!! be sure to update us when it comes through!
  13. Sorry have just seen this, I submitted a paper application, I had no idea you could do it online until I came on here
  14. yes, we have only just submitted the medical and police checks as he had to get a police check from Italy and it took ages. We are a bit worried that the delay submitting them might mean we are further down the pile than those that submitted them as soon as they are allowed to in June but hopefully as everything is in place before it is processed it won't slow things down.
  15. Hiya, Newbie here. Our application was received on the 24th March. Our CO is VF and we received the email below today. I'm taking it as a good sign that they haven't asked for anything further and we will just get in line now I suppose. Our 9 months is on christmas eve so hopefully santa bring us something nice I now have all the documents I require from you at this stage of processing. Processing times are currently approximately 9 months from date of application lodgement. Please note that this timeframe is unlikely to change and as such I would appreciate it if you did not contact me to enquire on processing any time before expiry of this timeframe. I will contact you should processing times decrease. You may travel to Australia on an appropriate, alternative visa while processing of this visa continues. If you are inside Australia when I’m ready to grant the visa I will email you requesting that you leave Australia for a minimum of 3 working days to allow the visa grant to be reflected in our systems. I will email you the grant letter. You may then re-enter Australia.
