  1. Yes, I too wish that he would keep his big mouth shut! However, he's not the only one who does it - a lot of the "remainers" seem determined to prove that they were right by talking the £ down too, jumping on every little thing. Unfortunately, we're at the mercy of the big money gamblers too.
  2. You might get some answers in the Money & Finance section. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/money-finance/
  3. Friday's response said 13 June, today's response has gone back to 11 June. I believe they were on strike Friday but I don't know why that should have put the date BACK!!!
  4. Brilliant! The auto email will probably change again tomorrow then.
  5. Hurray, you did it! Party time for you now I guess, before the new job starts. Congratulations!
  6. They haven't seen issued HAP id so early in the process for a couple of years. The reason is that medicals are only valid for one year and the whole process is currently taking about 27 months. So if you did your medical at the start, it would be out of date by the time you had a CO and you would have to do a second medical.
  7. Alan, have you tried emailing Immi to explain the situation? You're so close to the finish line, surely they'd understand.
  8. I believe there was somebody on here with a similar situation, maybe it was Skeelsy? I saw your more in depth explanation of your situation on another thread, and it might be that you need a migration agent to help with the answer you're looking for, because it sounded a bit complicated to me.
  9. I wondered what that post was all about too, Alan, it seemed to just come out of nowhere. I suspect it was in answer to something on an entirely different thread and not meant to go on here. But I agree with you with the points you made in response.
  10. Hopefully it'll go back up a bit. I know it's taken a hit because of the referendum result but it's been very up and down for a long time now, regardless of the referendum, so keep your fingers crossed. I don't think I'll get a visa before December, so I'm not going to start worrying at this stage.
  11. My currency exchange rate app won't update. What rate have you got?
  12. Has anybody managed to get a reply to the test email this week? I've tried twice today, but no luck.
  13. You're getting on with things, embracing all the changes with a positive attitude, plus landing a new job and making new friends - I take my cap off to you - it all bodes well for your new life. Congratulations.
  14. Send an email to parents@border.gov.au, put Test as the subject line, leave the rest of the email blank. You'll get an automated response showing all the info for the different parent visas. But don't bother sending more than one test email per week as you won't receive a response unless it's changed and it seems they update just once a week. I tend to send mine Friday mornings as I think they update on Fridays.
  15. Alan, you might need warmer clothing for Thursday if this report is right! Snow?! http://www.973fm.com.au/newsroom/get-ready-for-snow-australia
  16. from the weekly Immi test email: "OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (Subclass 103) Once your application is allocated to a case officer (which may take up to 17 months) your eligibility for a visa will be assessed and if you are found to meet eligibility requirements your application will be placed in a queue and assigned a queue date to wait for a visa place. We are currently assessing for a queue date applications lodged in March 2015 We are currently assessing for finalization applications with a queue date up to May 2009". I take that to mean currently 7 years from queue date.
  17. Latest from Immi: "We are currently assessing applications lodged up to and including 23 May 2014 (no change from last week)."
  18. Might be a silly question but ... are you remembering to close the screen doors to stop them getting in in the first place? You can leave windows and doors open, but make sure those screens are tight shut.
  19. Looks fab! You lucky lucky things! A minor setback re the broadband, as you say, and I suspect it won't be too much longer before you're no longer a "visitor", so that issue should resolve pretty soon.
  20. Here's something else to think about - just heard that an amateur weather forecaster says the southeast of England won't be getting a summer this year, apart from 2 weeks in July! I bet you don't wish you were here, hahahaha.
