  1. Well said Kelly!!! Ceridwyn why are you so bitter towards us nurses trying to support each other?? AHPRA are giving an appalling service at the moment and people deserve answers. If they justify their decision to compare our 3 year course to a 2 year course then fair enough we will accept that, but the fact is they can't justify this because they are wrong. UK diploma is equivalent to AQF 7.
  2. Hi everyone, I am a diploma nurse waiting to hear about registration with AHPRA. I am worried sick and seems there lots like me. I am diploma trained qualified in 2008, currently completing my honours degree so have completed 4 modules. Just finishing my dissertation at present. I have previously emailed AHPRA who stated that they are not necessarily refusing diploma trained nurses but they are assessing everyone on their own merit and are taking into consideration extra qualifications. Has anyone else heard anything?? I'm currently applying for my holiday working visa but don't want to go pay for my medical assessment if I'm not going to be granted registration. K
  3. Hi, What a nightmare everyone seems to be having. I applied to AHPRA in February I think it was. Just last week I finished forwarding university module details (Syllabus) as requested and they now state my qualification is under assessment and they can't provide a time frame. I am an advanced diploma trained adult nurse with 4 years in trauma orthopaedics and 2 years ICU. I am currently completing Bsc honours degree, due to the fact I was qualified more than 2 years before starting my degree I have had to do extra modules. I have completed 4 modules 3 are 30 credits at level 3 and one was 20 credits at level 3, I am just finishing writing my dissertation to complete this. I am hoping these extra modules I have completed at university will mean I am at level with an australian bachelors degree so I can get registration. The whole situation is very worrying, I am due to go travelling from November and was hoping to work with an agency to help find my trip around Australia. I guess if my registration is refused I may have to cut my trip short or even just not visit Australia. The agency I am signed on with have stated that nobody really seems to know what's happening at present. K
  4. Hi, When I have recently received an email from AHPRA requesting this information I contacted my university who were very helpful and sent relevant information. I also forwarded information from my current employment which included study days on the safe administration if medications and handouts from this study day with details of areas covered. I am also an advanced diploma nurse, very worried with the current situation regarding registration. I am currently completing my Bsc honours degree so have completed a further 4 modules at university most at 30 credits level 3 and one at 20 credits level 3. I am just finishing writing my dissertation to complete. K
  5. Hi everyone, I am currently waiting to hear from AHPRA, I have submitted all the extra information they require and now they state my qualification is under assessment and a time frame can't be given for this. The whole situation is very worrying. I have an advanced diploma and I am currently completing my Bsc honours degree, to complete my degree so far post my diploma I have completed a further 4 modules at university and I am just finishing writing my dissertation to complete. I previously emailed my case worker at AHPRA asking whether diploma nurses are been rejected. They stated that they are not necessarily rejecting diploma nurses but they are assessing individual applicants on their own merit. The agency I am signed on with for when I travel to Australia state that no registrations have come through in the past 6-8 weeks. Has anybody heard any more info?? K
