I went to local post office today and got a passport application for free. took passport photos as well for $16.95 (6 photos). called passport office to try my luck to book an appointment but failed. They suggested to apply in post office with express post and pay priority processing fee $108. then I can collect from passport office within two days hopefully

thanks Quinkala, what is the procedure to apply for passport on urgent basis? I want to get ASAP since i already booked tickets in December first week and my ceremony in Nov Third week. Happy to pay more to get passport quicker than paying huge amount to travel agent to change dates specially in December. please anybody advise. thanks in advance.

Hi all just an update: 1. Applied 19/06/14 and uploaded all material online- online status changed to 'received and being processed' 2. Received email on 26/06/2014 status changed to 'application being processed further 3. Took the test on 17/07/2014 and passed and approved same date 4. approval letter within a week. 5. citizenship ceremony invitation letter received today to attend in November. all the best for rest of the guys ....

Thanks IMaxx.. Could anybody please tell me, who applied online and got ceremony letter, what would be the online status? would that be "applicant approved" or "Application completed" or "ceremony arranged" or something else? thanks in advance

Hi all new update 19/06/2014 applied footscray melbourne online acknowdement 19/06/2014 email to sit for test 26/6/14 testdate 17/7/14 test passed and updated status online as approved 17/7/14 approval letter got today 21/7/14 waiting for ceremony letter...........

Hi Varanasi. you need to go there 15 minutes before the time and you will be issued a ticket. once you will be called you need to produce relevant documents original (driving license passport, utility bill and medicare, identity declaration form and your photograph as well). they may ask you couple of general questions like how do you know the citizen that signed in identity form etc. Then you will be asked to sit for the test. They will give you 45 minutes but you can finish in 10 minutes time. now the questions they will ask you are very simple but still you need to through the material. http://www.citizenship.gov.au/learn/cit_test/test_resource/_pdf/our-common-bond-2014.pdf now finally in this pdf you need to read only testable sections part 1,2 and 3 for test purpose. all the best....

Hi all new update 19/06/2014 applied footscray melbourne online acknowdement 19/06/2014 email to sit for test 26/6/14 testdate 17/7/14 test passed and updated status online as approved 17/7/14 waiting for letter now and then for ceremony online status Applicant approved - ready for citizenship ceremony. Please await letter from Department.

Took the test today 17/07/2014 and passed online status not changed yet. passed with 100% result. officer said they do police check now and send us approval letter by post. after that we receive second letter by post to attend ceremony.

when i got email to sit for test on 3rd week of july my status changed to application being processed further; before that the status was ;;;processing commenced;;;; so hopefully you may receive email or letter to sit for test sooon
