..........looked through some of this thread..... ..........and rather than negativity......I feel it's highlighting the possible pitfalls...! ...........lots of practicle advice...... ..........but ime it's the mental and emotional state that is often forgotten.... ...........it's stressful moving anywhere..... ............add to that its half way round the world from everything and everybody you know..... .............it's......different..... .............depending on where you live accessibility to things often taken for granted in the uk... ..............is harder....... ...............to have the same....ie city living.....it's going to be more expensive.... ...............how do you live now....? ................walking distance to amenities....? ................will you be happy havving to drive instead... .................no family....or friends initially for most..... ..................will you cope emotionally in a crisis.....on those days when nothing goes right ..? ..................It's still day to day living.... ...................you'd think twice about going out on a rainy day in the uk....just swap that for one too hot here... ....................a lot of migration to me is like getting married..... ....................those that succeed throw themselves mind and body into their new adventure.... .....................those that don't hanker after their past love...... .....................so with all the practicalities covered........you have to be prepared mentally and emotionally.... ......................good luck to all those contemplating the move....Xxx

.........just one amongst so many things Tasmania has to offer..... .........I usually find enough in most places I visit to enjoy.... .........all about attitude ! .........Bon appetit.......

........a lot of it reminded me of the U.K. ali...... .........there were blackberries in the hedgerows..... .........tiny Daisy's in the grass.....indeed a beautiful place....

........if your idea/experience of seafood for dinner....is a crab sandwich.... ........then indeed the trip would be wasted on you.....IMO....

............indeed there is.......my favourite only 15 minutes away...! ............but one of the perks of the east coast..... .............so much in easy reach.... ............and I second Mures OP...! ............wonderful seafood....

...........a 2 hour 45 minute flight..... ...........about an hour getting to and from airports..... ............if I left now I could easily make it for dinner...... ............with a walk round the harbour first.....

.........don't agree.....! .........all areas have parts that are not nice.... .........but Beerwah has recently had lots of upgrading.... .........parts very pretty..... ..........and Maleny and surrounds such as Mountville ,Flaxton etc are unlikely to have homes in the price bracket the OP has stipulated...

............Landsborough........Glass house.......Woombye....Yandina..... ............depends also what else you need close by..... .............how far from the coast you need.....and major aminities.... .............type in Sunshine Coast hinterlands to realestate.com.... .............then when you find a house you can research the suburb,... ..............good luck...!

............port Arthur....! ............the gardens are amazing.......and an interesting walk back through time.... ............and Richmond........a lovely place with nice antique shops...... .............so many places but perhaps the Cadbury factory if you like chocolate.... ..............Salamanca markets........and fish and chips in Hobart...

..........safe flight young lady...... ...........enjoy it.....Xxx

..........you can spend your whole life travelling..... ..........though it is advisable to take a few years out to train as something you can work at anywhere..... ...........a career to fall back on ..... ...........but with a few other qualifications that help you through.....some hospitality experience.... ...........you can....! ...........it all depends what you want out of life.....

..........agree that places are cheap for a reason.... ..........but not that there isn't cheap realestate..... ...........it depends if the reasons are compatible to your lifestyle..... ...........if you don't need large shopping malls... ............restaurants and wine bars..... ............some of the rural towns do offer a pleasant alternative IMO.... ............most little communities do have access to a dr.... .............schools......and basic shopping ime.... ..............its if you need the trimmings......and are prepared to travel for them.... ..............a rural community......has the cheaper options for housing.....

.........I second Tamworth....! .........a large town......with good and varied shopping facilities in the CBD.... .........well known for its country musical festival.......and a great place for equine enthusiasts.... .........lots of schools to choose from......also has a performing arts academy.... ..........and being roughly halfway between Brisbane and Sydney gives you two major cities about an hours flight away... ..........a nice place.....IMO....

When we find someone on a leaky boat at sea, fearing for their life, we should rescue them, not tow them away. ....................Unfortunately, we have lost sight of the humanitarian aspect..... ..................instead have policies that prioritise self-interest,and the crisis will only worsen.... ......................Sixty years ago, Australia helped draft the Refugee Convention, it was one of the first countries to sign it. ...................so rather than looking to outsource its responsibilities, Australia needs to once more show global leadership, ....................to prioritises protection, human life and human dignity. .....................it's not going to be easy, but the scale of the problem is getting worse and Australia needs to act now.

..........Australia does not do its share....! ..........this has been discussed many times..... ..........and its Australia's responsibility to take a larger proportion than they do.... ..........and fault....! ...........does it matter now.....? ...........we are part of a global community.... ...........not just a seperate being ,behaving like a spoilt child... ............I didn't do it so why should I help...... ............help for the good of the worlds family.......we all belong to the human race....!

...........we have stopped the drownings in Australian waters.... ...........but we havnt solved the problem of refugees.... ...........we havnt even helped...! ............their still there......desperate for somewhere.... .............and we need to do our share of humanitarian help..... ...............not just push them out of sight....

........well I wonder if those in the camps are as pleased.... ........the ones with the choice of return to where they fled from.... ........or stay in a country that doesn't want them....doesn't have the resources..... ........best keep them all out......because one bad apple...!

...........a lovely idea but as others have said......could be challenging...! ...........perhaps have a look at something like this for your first camp.... ...........even trying out a cabin first.... https://www.big4.com.au ............if you join they often have special deals......and cater for children..... ...........whatever you decide,enjoy......lots of beautiful places to see.....

........but isn't that a natural reaction when we don't want something ,somewhere...? .........the bad in it grows out of proportion.... ..........our reactions to justify our decision fail to see beyond our distrust and dislike ...........it's why often we need someone outside our selves and close ones.... .............to bring a balance an objective view.... ...............often why councillors are a must...... .................good luck OP ....

..........have answered your bold question....! ..........but my experience may not be yours..... ..........only you can make it work....or not....... ..........and who knows what the future holds.....or how we may react to it.....

..........yes.......all my married life..! ..........up to 8 months apart...( when the children were young....) ..........to a regular 2 week on,2 off.... ..........but it's not easy ime..! ..........it's doable if both partners compromise.... ..........you seem sure your partnership is strong..... ..........so perhaps with a visit by you for a agreed time..... ...........will help your other half see how much your prepared to put up with something you so obviously dislike for him.... ...........sometimes you have to give something up to gain something.....a strong relationship.....good luck...

.........that made interesting reading...so glad it was mostly a joy... .........I do think many of us make the mistake of comparing..... .........and looking for memories..... .........when I visit places I have been before I look at it newly... ..........to holiday or live I think we can only look forward..... ..........it's not the place we are..... ..........but where we are in ourselves..... ..........we change......as we adapt to the life we have.... ..........your beginnings will always be special to you......it shaped you.... ..........but so will your life here.... ..........you will settle where most of your needs and wants are now..... ..........life is all about....enjoying the now.....IMO and ime....of course...

........oh for goodness sake PB...! ........for most family's here or there ........most lawns are not like that...! ........and both places......can boast lawns such as that.... ........in homes with the money and or time to maintain such...l
