From memory the stat decs are valid for a year. I think that means they have to be less then 12 months old when submitted as evidence - but worth ringing to check.

I wrote too soon - the email confirmation for the 100 came through separately later. double hoorah!

...and its here. hoorah! only a 309 (thought he might qualify for the 100 straight off) but still... relieved! now off to see if there are still flights available for next week. after 17 years away, i'm going home to perth!

Nope. Email exchange with CO (WP) b4 xmas suggested tomorrow would be the day... will wait and see (what else can you do!)

We had something similar and rang for an answer. If they travel on an aus passport they are not migrating. We put a copy of our sons cit by decent in with all the evidence as well and wrote something in one of the written sections - so it was clear, but didn't put him down as a migrating child.

8 months and 23 days and still waiting. Been told it will take the full 9 months.

We tried the gentle prod email saying we really want to be in Oz by mid-jan. Response said it was being finalised and we should get a decision by the 8th of jan - which would be exactly 9 months.

We've got WP too. 8 months and 8 days for us now... gives me hope we might just get it before xmas! Might try the 'prod' email mid-week...

My OH is a day ahead of you Ronansmyth - 8 months was up on Sunday. Hoping we hear some good news by the end of next week - hopefully b4 xmas!

I'm not sure thats true - we are going with sevenseas and we have already sent everything because we sold the house - the goods due in the country at the end of november and we aren't going to get there until jan (haven't even booked tickets yet). They sent me the paperwork for quarentine just the other day - that paperwork asked for flight details etc., but I have submitted it with that section left blank and so far I haven't recieved notification of it being bounced. I have used sevenseas several times now and have never had a problem sending/recieving goods when I wasn't in the country. I (the aussie half of the partnership) did all the paperwork and had my mother down as a nominee to recieve the goods and my mothers address went down as the destination (although sevenseas are just going to store them until we get there). I bet there is a way to get the good on their way before you leave...

It was about 7 weeks for us b4 CO made contact. If you look, most people on this forum have their major milestones in their signature - that should give you an idea of timescales. (If you look for people who applied after June 14 as the processing times seemed to change with the new (Australian) financial year).

Not sure if anyone cares, but I feel like posting an update House sold and contracts exchanged in Sept (now living with the inlaws)... Notice given at work last week (I'm on 3 months notice)... Two phone interviews for jobs... ...and other half has had a conditional offer of a place at university starting Feb (the condition being that he has a visa) So, last piece of the puzzle is a visa... a 100 will make the uni fees cheaper! Hoping these 8 month something approval times keep - should mean we have it by Xmas!

Unfortunately, I think your best bet is the partner visa. It is an expensive and long process, but if you have an (Australian) child and have been living together for over 3 years (and can proove it), there is a good chance she will be eligible for (and granted) permanent residency (100 visa) from the outset. It might be worth it in the long run... She can still travel on a tourist visa to Australia while it is being processed - just need to let your CO know when you travel.
