I just thought i'd add that I was the sponsor, and I was the one dealing with the CO, not my OH, who was the applicant. I emailed our CO at the 8 month mark to advise that my OH had limited access to his emails, and as we had passed the 8 month mark, would she mind emailing me when it came time to make the decision regarding our visa application. I had no response to that email, and 2 weeks later i emailed again as my OH has a disabled brother and as our wedding is getting closer we wondered if it was possible to have an update on the visa so we can make travel plans for my OH's brother to come to Oz. 54 mins later, we had the visa grant (although not from the email address of our CO!). And, it was sent to me, not my OH who was the applicant (it actually then took me 4 hours to reach him on the phone to tell him the news haha!!). That was really the only contact i had with the CO, apart from me asking if she had everything she need once the medical had been completed. Coxy, fingers crossed for you!!! I keep checking in the hopes that your visa has come through!!! My OH arrives in Melbourne on 3rd November, so bloody excited and just can't wait!!! :-)

So happy...it's just such a relief, can get rid of that doubt and just focus on the wedding now! 6 months and 13 days til we get married!!

WE GOT OUR VISA!!!!!! I burst into tears I was so excited, such a relief!!!! I emailed earlier as my OH has a disabled brother, and we really want to get onto making plans so he can hopefully come out to Oz for our wedding in April. 54 mins after I emailed, visa grant email came through!!! Happy days!!!

Thanks, I hope we get it today too! We've not had overly good experiences with her, but if you think she's lovely hopefully that means we have a chance of getting it today!!

Still waiting!! :-( 8 months and 11 days now! :-( like barleysuga we also have VF, fingers crossed she's on a roll and will give us our grant tomorrow! Barleysuga, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Im in Victoria and we didn't have a public holiday, I think just NSW and QLD, so I'd be surprised if Australia House was closed....fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!

We're VF as well, applied Jan 29...the wait is killing me!! Fingers crossed we both hear today!

I emailed my CO on Monday also, my partner (the applicant) has limited access to his emails at the moment, so i asked the CO if she could please also include me on any emails (wishful thinking that we'll hear sooner rather than later!). I still haven't had a response, and i'm convincing myself that no news is good news...

Congrats!!!! We logged on Jan 29th, so i now have everything crossed that there's only 2 more weeks to go!!! :-)

Oh, how horrible, i'm so sorry...i'm extremely lucky that I was in a position where I was able to visit my other half during our wait. Here's hoping the next 3-4 months speed by for you! Good luck @ajg73 !!!

Have you seen each other in the 14months? I'm extremely glad we're near the end, it's the only thing keeping both of us going at the moment! Prior to my recent trip it had been 6.5 months since i saw him, and leaving him the prior time had been so much harder...at least this time around we knew we only had about 8-9 weeks til we'd hear something, and he'll be on a plane as soon as the visa comes through! Wedding planning has also kicked up into full gear, so that's helping pass the days!:smile:

Thanks Coxy...we're coming up on 14months apart now, so it's definitely tough. I did just get back from 2.5 weeks in England with him though, so that was lovely! :-) Good luck for news this week ajg..we're 2-ish weeks behind you, so i'll cross my fingers extra hard for you!

Hi all! First time poster, long time reader. So, firstly, thanks to all those who have posted over the last few months, it's helped keep me sane to know that there are so many going through the same process! Figured it was time I posted on here given my fiance and I should hopefully be nearing the end of our wait. Our details are: Visa (subclass 300) acknowledged as received: Jan 29th 2014 Case Officer assigned (VF): March 3rd 2014 Police checks and Medicals done: end of April So, we're currently at the 7.5 month mark (roughly). Am expecting it to come through towards the end of October, but of course hoping it comes through sooner! My fiance and I have been apart this whole time, and it's tough! Good luck to those who are expecting a visa grant to come through any day now!! :-)
