  1. Bricklayers are also on south Australia list. That's what I have got state sponsorship for . It took me 10 months to get all 8's and above for the ielts !!
  2. Congratulations all the best for your future in Australia. Let's hope they continue to grant some more:biggrin:
  3. Does anyone know if your occupation has now got "special requirements" if that still affects your visa even though we already have state nomination or is it just for people who haven't yet got state sponsorship
  4. Does anyone know if there is a maximum time limit when a CO is allocated as we are in our 12th week with everything uploaded in February or is there just a minimum time of 7 weeks
  5. Another 190 visa granted for someone today so some more good news . We are just over 11 weeks though with still no CO anyone else gone this long
  6. It is on expat forum on "190 visa slow grant speed"
  7. Someone on another forum got granted their 190 visa today for SA and they lodged their visa on 14th February so there is still hope that visas are being granted:biggrin:
  8. We're still waiting for a case officer from lodging on 4th February !!!
  9. Has everyone got a CO yet for February. We are still waiting since 4th February ....The suspense is killing us !!
  10. We lodged 7 weeks ago tomorrow and we still have no Co all our documents were uploaded up front including medicals and pccs . It changed to received two days after we lodged !! Still nothing
  11. I don't know if anyone actually knows the official answer but I'm so confused with all this talk of visas nearly reaching their quotas for the year but if you look at the reports for skills select up until and of Feb there were just under 12000 visas issued in our subclass. According also to their reports the allocation for these visas for 2013-14 are 28800 so how has it nearly reached its quota? Maybe I'm not reading it correctly does anyone have better knowledge of how their reports work
  12. That's good news fingers crossed for you we are 3 weeks behind you so hopefully we will get a case officer soon too.
  13. We supplied the last 10 years end of year tax returns and national insurance . Some information we had to get from HMRC and took about 3 weeks to receive. If you haven't got your records they will send it all to you. Hope this helps. If you don't do your own tax returns then yes p60s are the same
  14. The two threads that i read was on poms in adelaide under the thread "visa grant backlog" and British expats under thread "sc 190 and 489 visas close to quota". Maybe it only applys to people who haven't had an invite yet. We haven't got an agent to ask as we did it on our own. Just got to think positive as nothing has been confirmed yet so could be rumors
  15. I still don't understand why they changed the processing times to 3 months last week getting everyone excited just to turn round the next week and say the quota has nearly been met. So frustrating.
  16. Someone just posted on poms in adelaide that their agent has told them today that 190 and 489 visas have nearly met the yearly quota and processing times may be delayed even to the point of being processed after 1st July the new tax year. I hope that doesn't affect us !!
  17. Don't know if anyone noticed but processing times have changed from 6 months to 3 months this week so at least we can have a nail biting experience for hopefully half the time!!

    Singapore layover?

Hi you say you usually spend a couple of nights on a stop over . We were looking to do the same thing and spending two nights in Hong Kong can you tell me if you have to take all your luggage with you to do this or can you leave some of it at the airport somewhere as you are carrying on the journey in a couple of days thanks
  19. Hi vanduex we had our medicals at Maidenhead on Friday and they told us it takes about 4 working days to upload results so we will soon see by Thursday. The nurse also said that weight isn't really an issue for an Australian visa it's only an issue with new Zealand and Canada. Hope this helps
  20. Hi I'm getting a bit confused about every talking about form 80. On our visa "recommend list " it has only asked for form 1221 it doesn't say anything about form 80 . Do we need to do both form 1221 and form 80, if so what section would you upload form 80 on "attach documents" thanks
  21. Hi we lodged our 190 visa on 5th Feb my partner is also a bricklayer and we were hoping to stay the first 5 weeks around Glenelg area too so that we would be central enough to travel north or south to see where work is before we settle for a long let . Hope to keep in touch to see how you get on . If visa is granted looking to go out end of June July so that we could get the kids into there school term which starts near the end of july
  22. Hi we lodged our 190 visa for on 5th Feb for SA (want to go to Adelaide) my partner is a bricklayer and we have 3 kids aged 20 11 and nearly 10. Getting very excited as it feels like we have been doing all prep work forever! ! Fingers crossed for everyone
  23. Thanks for that i will get him to apply tomorrow. The reason he hadn't applied for anything else is because we were hopping to be in Australia as soon as visa is granted. What about the evidence you submitted , are the bank statements, proof of address, and his letters to shown he was on a course till November enough or is there more evidence we need . Did they scrutinise you a lot for all the evidence . Thanks
