  1. Occupations on the CSOL can be nominated for a 457/ENS visa and can also be used for independent 190 or 489 applications providing you have the support of a State Government/Territory/Eligible Family member (as applicable). Occupations that appear on Schedule 1 of the CSOL (the SOL) are generally considered in high demand and can be used for an independent 189 Visa application. ENS is a PR visa that requires a job offer (on-going for at least 2 years) from an eligible business. They can nominate you for a needed skilled position in their business (that appears on the CSOL) and you must meet the skill requirement for the position. Unless you've already been working for the company on a 457 visa for two years, the 'Direct Entry' pathway will be the way forward. For Direct Entry you will need to have your skills assessed by the relevant authority and demonstrate you have at least 3 years relevant experience. I would say it's unusual for a company to sponsor a brand new candidate for an ENS visa. Generally in situations like yours a company would take you on first as a WHV holder for a probationary period, then 457 if things work out well, then ENS - Transition stream. Sponsorship carries a number of obligations so it's not something they enter into lightly. All the best,
  2. Generally the industry leaders/unions etc will advise the government and states of the current skill need in that particular industry and the DIBP adjust lists and ceiling limits accordingly. If there is a real shortage they can lodge petitions to have an occupation included in the SOL/CSOL etc. Obviously there's a lot of politics so by the time the change is actually made it can seem a bit odd.
  3. Hello Dean, It's going to be quite difficult to go through independently as a conference and event organiser. Yes it's on a couple of the state sponsor lists but if you look closer its actually 'schedule 2' or 'off list' which generally require special criteria like a job offer or are only open for recent graduates from that State. In the case of WA you'd either need to be working there or have a job offer in that occupation open for 12 months to be eligible for state sponsorship in that occupation at the moment. The lists change all the time so it might not be the case when you apply, but I thought I'd highlight that. All the best,
  4. Hi Shearer, for a 189 visa you just need to upload colour-scanned copies to the online application. Worth sending a courtesy email to the case officer as well to say you've uploaded them. All the best,
  5. Very unlikely that the associate degree would meet the skill assessment requirements: http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/migration-assessment/requirements-and-criteria
  6. Even though it must be lodged in the order SBS>Nom>App they can all be lodged the same day one after the other. 4 weeks is plenty of time to put together an SBS, Nom and App providing there's no major issues.
  7. Hi cc2121, You're right about the qualification majors, they don't really lean towards to a particular in demand occupation and are general topics rather than being a set specialisation. The best thing you can do is look on the CSOL list for occupations that interest you, then look at the skill level/duties and licensing requirements of those occupations on ANZSCO. Since you both have a bachelor degree you could realistically meet the 457 visa skill level of a number of occupations for which the degree may be considered relevant. Then search for job vacancies in those occupations, explain that you currently have the right to work on your Work and Holiday Visa and that you'd be interested in 457 visa sponsorship to continue working beyond the expiry of your current visa.
  8. She would have to withdraw the application and reapply for the 173 instead. There is even a declaration page on the parent visa application form stating that you must withdraw any other parent visa that is processing to make a new valid parent visa application. Very, very unlikely to receive any refund of the application fee as well.
  9. Actually Freesia is almost correct. The balance of family won't be met until another daughter obtains PR. The daughter on a 457 visa would not be considered as living in Australia for the BoF purpose, so a parent visa application cannot be made yet. Malcval - The best pathway really depends upon your circumstances i.e. how quickly you want to move to Australia, how much you're willing to pay (the 2nd stage VAC on a contributory parent visa is huge), whether you will be eligible to apply in Australia (be on a substantive visa with no 8503 condition) etc.
