Hello, my boyfriend and I (26 and 22 years old) just got to Oz from the USA on working holiday visa. We love it so much and don't want to have to go back home but unfortunately we don't have any qualifying work experience as we just graduated university (bachelors) in August. Also, our majors don't seem to be very helpful in qualifying us for in demand jobs (he studied Political Science and I studied Philosophy with a minor in urban and regional studies). I did work all through school part time and have had a real estate license in California for 4 years and worked as a property manager assistant and real estate assistant. I also have an associates degree in accounting but no relevant work exp besides basic property accounting. Anyway... we are really hoping one of us can find a job sponsor and are willing to do any necessary course and prep work. I'd prefer to work in property since i've already got some experience and understanding but am basically willing to do any sort of labor or training that could secure sponsorship. Boyfriend is interested in construction management but also willing to do anything. Any feedback is very much appreciated. As we are from the USA we can't get a 2nd year WHV and are trying to get all this sorted out ASAP so we can start with any training courses we might need. We can barely sleep at night we are so worried about if any of this will work out or if we will just have to go back home to get work experience and then try to come back! Thank you PomInOz members!!
