  1. Thank you Moving to Australia, it is a HUGE relief. We have 3 small children, moving without income and a valid visa has been stressful. Congratulations on your Visa Lozza, we asked our CO for an update and she said our visa would be approved. She advised us that our visa would be approved and if we can give her dates when we could be out of the country. I recommend you contact your CO around the 8 month mark. Good luck with your visa. I remember feeling it would never happen and now it's here. Good luck everyone.
  2. Wooohooooo!! Our Visa has been granted. Off to NZ tomorrow for 3 days to activate it. So excited finally we have it. So excited!!!
  3. We have moved to Australia already. When our visa is about to be granted does anyone know what will happen? I remember reading something about it but I can't find the original post (after 2 hours I give up). From what I remember they email us to let us know we need to leave the country. Do they give us a certain time to exit the country or do we leave the country and then advise them when out? We still have another couple of months to go but with 3 kids under 3 we need to plan. :err:
  4. A big congratulations to you Mary!!!! Wow that must feel so fantastic. I second this forum helps making this process bearable. I hope to know how that feels in the next 3 months. Where are you planning to move to?
  5. Hi Dia2499 Not sure if you remember me. I applied a couple of weeks before you. It was so nice to see you posting. We are in Australia now and trying to set up. Without the visa has presented challenges. It is hard to believe that the visa could be approved as soon as the end of next month....although I think it will be May. Our Case officer left in December and we were reassigned so I prey that wont affect our application at all. The end of next month I intent to email the CO and just check up to make sure all is ok and we haven't fallen through the cracks. How are you holding up?
  6. We have moved to Australia before my husbands Spouse Visa has been approved. We are filling out the lovely B534 Unaccompanied Personal Effects Statement. :arghh: It asks for a list and visa details of all people whose goods are on the consignment. What should we complete. He's obviously still on a tourist visa and can't give the visa details. Can I claim it is all mine...including shoes etc :biglaugh: or should I fess up and say I have a tourist with me and I his stuff is on the boat?
  7. Woooohoooooo that is fantastic news!!! Hubby has already done his medical as we have to head for the land of oz as he's been made redundant. Long story. I look forward to hearing how you get on. Good luck to you. xx
  8. That is such good news. I am so envious. :-) What part of Australia are you moving to? Home for me is Brisbane. Good Luck.
  9. I have my fingers crossed you hear something really soon. Yes It's so nice to know all that hard work means we got it right.... a big surprise I was convinced we would have forgotten something. I think we enclosed everything we could find....i think there was a kitchen sink in there too  I look forward to hearing that you have received you CO soon. xxxxxxx
  10. We have our CO today. Woohooo:biggrin: We have TS and all we need to provide is a medical in due course. Processing time is the normal 8-9 months. Since we are already over a month down the path 7-8 months left
  11. Madoabnot gives us hope. We are still waiting too. I hope you hear soon Dia2499. XX
  12. Wow that makes me feel better knowing that it is everyone in the same boat. I would love to know when you do hear something. It's such a laborious project you just want to hear straight away. Happy little Vegemite, Wow 4 months in. I know that will be us in no time. I am so glad there are people here I can talk to about how this all feels. Thank you
  13. Thank you dia2499 and Snifter. I'll keep you up dated dia2499 a big good luck to you too, I heard they had a lot of applications as the prices went up the beginning of September I think. It's so hard to keep calm when you put so much into the application. We spend so much to time checking the inbox and spam filter. 1 month down only another 8 to go. :-) lilacdreamer congrats on getting your application in.
  14. Hi All, we sent our partner visa application in on the 23rd of September, the money was taken on the 24th. We have heard nothing from them nearly a month later. Is this normal? Should we be worried? I know they have the application but not hearing anything in nearly a month is worrying us.
  15. Hi Everyone We are just about to lodge our spouse visa application. My husband has just been given his notice after 20 years working for the same company he will be made redundant in November. We have been made an offer on our house after 2 days on the market and my house in Australia lease runs out all within a few weeks. It is the perfect time to move with our 3 children under 3. The only issue we have is now is the visa takes 8-9 months. I can work but I would have to work 3 jobs to earn the same as my husband and I am breastfeeding (I don't want to give this up). I have phoned the consulate and they say sometimes under special circumstances applications can be moved ahead, but it is very very rare. Has anyone heard of this and have any knowledge of the process and do we qualify? The woman didn't know as she is not a CO. I am frightened of what this will mean for our family if we have to wait the 9 months. Thank you :-)
