Apparently it's not a requirement on the tourist visa have a return ticket. But if you can show evidence that you have enough funds eg bank statement to purchase a ticket out of Aus it should not be a problem. We've spoken Australia House and have had confirmation that it is correct.

Thanks Snifter. This forum is so helpful. We have booked flights for end of Oct and my husband will be entering on a tourist visa.

Hi everyone. Just joined today I'm australian and my husband is British. We lodged his spouse application on 18 march 2013 our co is VF. Has anyone been assigned her? And have they had visa granted sooner? Police and medical check were all done in mid June. Our fingers are tightly crossed we will receive visa soon but looking at some comments 7 months seems to be the processing time. Would that be right? Thanks to everyone who posts on here it's really helpful.
