Hi we applied for our cpv over one year ago and still waiting for requests for medical and police reports. Realistically you are going to have to wait 21 to 24 months. IMMI have a huge backlog of applications to get through so the timescale is changing all the time. Keep an eye on this thread and you will see how Other applicants are progressing. our daughter lives in Mentone Bayside Melbourne but we will be heading down beyond Mornington as we like a quieter life and don't want to be anywhere near CBD. we are presently in Oz for a short break and have to say the weather is very cold, have been watching a bit of Wimbledon and having weather envy. Whoopee! Whoopee! Petina. w e've been off line for the wedding and now catching up with updates. So great to see so many visas granted. We also enjoyed our champagne at the wedding, seriously bad hangover today and also feel a new hip coming on after cutting some seriously bad moves on the dance floor! Julie

Hi Steve we're flying with Singapore Airlines with a 12 hour stop at the transit hotel at Changi airport. We're just not up to flying straight thro unless it's business class and don't want to spend money on that! it's a strange feeling putting the house on the market without having had a visa granted but don't want to hang around waiting for it to sell either. Good luck with your sale hopefully you will have a sold sign on soon. can't believe the test email still says 29 Aug, it's not been working for a while so I thought they would probably change the date. Got a sinking feeling that our applications are going to take 2 years! Anyway halfway there got to be on the downhill run! Julie

Hi Joe well it's a year today that our application was lodged at PVC! I was sort of thinking that they might send me an anniversary card or a request for medicals but I'm also deluding myself!:chatterbox: anyway off to Oz on Saturday for the wedding next week, and then hopefully back to some requests for viewings - as you say Petina scary! Wow that's brilliant Petina, we have our Agent coming round tomorrow to complete all the property details so we have about 12 months to sell it before we probably get our visa. Julie

Hi we too have a NAB account which we opened in UK paid money in then activated it 12 months ago whilst we were in Oz. We have online banking with them which works really well so we pay money to whoever we want from OZ. Moneycorp pay our cash straight into NAB no fees! Couldn't be easier! Julie

Hi Maisie Apparently the industrial action is affecting Australian airports and visa units. They are on a go slow until the 26th June. Still looking on the positive side Petina has seen some progress this week so they haven't ground to a halt completely. :arghh: Julie

Take a look at today's exchange rate - wow! means a big price reduction in the 2nd vac fees for us all, more dollars for our pensions and more house for €'s. TEST email I still says 29 AUG for 143’s this morning! Ugh! i promised myself I wouldn't,t look at the TESt email until we got back from our daughters wedding early July. I'm like a moth to a flame! agent instructed on house sale it hits the market when we get back, that should take my mind off things! Julie

Hi welcome to the waiting room! We are almost 12 months into the process and not so patiently waiting for IMMI to advise us of the next stage, I don't think we will hear anything for quite some time yet. We are putting the house on the market at the beginning of July as we want to get on with things and it's something else to think about. best of luck and here's hoping they speed things up a bit. julie

Hi All in the waiting room today's Test email still showing 28 Aug for 143 offshore applications, however, they have added a few words.........this was a particularly busy month so the date will move slowly! Thank you IMMI for explaining! Hopefully September was a quiet month and they will sprint through to October! julie

Do you think IMMI knows where the fast forward button is? It would just be great to get back to the timescale of 18 months instead of the 21mths plus it's now looking like. Julie

Hi Steve No I can't find anything either. I spent 30 mins yesterday skimming thro the Oz budget found the increases in visas charges but not much else. The document was hard work and I gave up. Someone somewhere knows the figures I guess we will have to wait for those too. We're busy getting the house ready to market when we get back from our daughter's wedding, it's never looked so nice. You know what it's like when you get all those "jobs" done that have been outstanding for ages! I must say putting the house on the market without progress news from IMMI is daunting but on the other hand it may well take ages to sell so we'll just have to see. Time to get back to the maintenance! Julie

And wait and wait...... According to the test email I got back last night, they are changing the email addresses for contacting the department from 1st July 15 this is to accomodate the integration of border control into the department. visas fees are up from 1st July 5 percent on 143’s, apparently this increase will pay the integration of border control into the IMMI I department - really? Still no update on the test email for 143’s, loads of info for 103/840! Julie
