  1. I lived in Albany until March this year and loved it. Beautiful beaches and weather, but the winter rains can be an issue sometimes. Had to move due to work but may go back when my eldest daughter is old enough for high school.
  2. Hi Oppyddrum, yeah it's usually faster if the nomination and application go together . Anyway since the nomination has been concluded, your parents should expect a grant later this month/ early October. They are processing applications a bit faster, these days. All the best.
  3. Hello Oppyddrum, Our application was lodged ( Non- decision ready & without a MA) at Perth office on the 28th of May,2013, nomination was on 20th May , 2013. We got our grant on 22nd of August. This includes a 3.5wk delay on my hubby's employer's part in responding to CO's request for more documents. We were on 457 , with sponsorship that was granted in April 2013. Our nomination was approved on the same day as the grant.May be the recency of the sponsorship licence made things faster for us. occupation: Gp I hope this helps
  4. Hi everyone, we just got our visa 186 grant today and I still can't believe it. I give GOD all the praise and thanks. Nomination: 19th May 2013 visa application(non-decison ready): 28th May 2013 Co: 26th July 2013 grant: 22nd August 2013 visa office: Perth
  6. The visa and license restriction can be overwhelming , especially when you are new here. But the feeling soon passes. I remember it was just same with us. We came over so my hubby could start his RMO job here in WA and 4 months into it he started applying to GP practices and got quite a number of offers. He accepted and signed a contract with one in July 2012, to start at the end of his RMO contract in march 2013. GP jobs are plenty and your hubby should not have any problems securing one, especially since his gen reg is going to come through routinely. In summary , your hubby is better off completing his present job to receive his gen reg but need to start looking for new employers who will nominate him for PR as soon as he starts with them next year. You should be fine.
  7. Hi Norah9, My hubby is also a medical Doctor and he concluded he got his gen Reg in Jan 2013 after 1yr on advanced standing/ limited reg. He switched jobs in April 2013 and his new employers nominated us for visa 186 Direct entry route in may 2013. So you don't have to wait 2 yrs. Your hubby should discuss with his employers. Mine did so even though he just turned 40, he presented it to the practice as his requirement.
  8. That was the hardest part of the application.
  9. Hi Pozz, you have to make the payment first and then you will have access to the links to upload the docs. Good luck!
  10. Hi Katc, our nomination was done 20th May 2013 and we put our application in non decision ready( without Health check) 29th May, 2013. We have since sorted our health check out and just waiting on DIAC. Ours is being processed in Perth. I hear it takes about 6-8 months but I wouldn't mind a miracle on this one.
  11. Congrats Piramida. Good luck Shugar, I hope we all get that golden email soon.
  12. Hello again Shugar, we just got a reply to a second email to them and they can confirm we have met the health requirement ( Thanks to GOD) and we do not have a CO yet. Apparently the comments on the nomination page was due to some tech glitch. But it feels like we just won the lottery because good health is wealth. Thanks so much for your reassuring comments.
  13. Thanks Shugah, I totally understand. It's just baffling that they would post their comments on the employer's nomination page instead of our application page, and their reply that we don't have a CO yet hence we are wondering who left the comments.
  14. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum do forgive me if my question has been answered elsewhere on this forum. My husband was nominated by his employers for visa 186 mid may 2013 and we have concluded our part of the process. Sometime in the past few days someone at DIAC commented on the nomination page that this applicants medicals could not concluded and hence have been referred and if further tests are required, he will be notified( not the exact words). We sent an email to our visa office seeking more clarification and they replied promptly to say we have not been assigned CO yet and when we get one, he/she will contact us if necessary. None of us have any adverse medical history and we did ask our panel dr after the health exams and he informed us everything looked good.So my questions are: is it standard practice for info regarding applicants health to be posted on the employer's nomination page? also can meds be referred before a co is assigned? PS:our application page still shows the link for organise medicals and no comments from DIAC. so sorry for the long post. We are just a bit anxious because if any of us is not in good health, immigration becomes secondary as our primary focus is our lives. Not knowing what's happening is doing our heads in. Called Medibank already and they could not help.
