You'll be on a very tight budget for a family of three. I think that money would be enough for everyday expenses but you won't be able to save any money. However, if your wife is able to work that would be the way you can earn extra income and finally you'll be fine. Hope that helps by the way I live in Sydney.

Thank you Jazz, My application was lodged onshore in Sydney on June 7. My position is an electronic engineer, take a look at my timeline here even though it didn't tell much details. 07/06/2013 Application received - processing commenced Message 07/06/2013 Application fee received Message View your receipt details 06/08/2013 Applicant Approved On July 15, DIAC asked for further information such as Birth Cer, Police clearance, IELTS etc.( later no need IELTS). Submitted those docs to MA on July 30. Role Nomination approved August 2. Application approved August 6. Yours will come soon I believe. Good luck everyone.

My visa's got approved today, it takes 8 weeks in total. I don't think yours will take any longer. Good luck everyone. :biggrin:

Thanks for your reply. Well, usually it would be nomination approved. The CO doesn't have to tell whether job description's got approved or not? I can't check my timeline coz I don't have the TRN.

Thanks for your reply Jazz. Also, today after I sent more docs to the CO, the MA told me that the "job description got approved" I have no idea what does that mean? Could anyone tell me? Anyway still have to wait...:nah:

You're probably on 574, once the course has commenced, you have right to work unlimited hrs. http://www.immi.gov.au/students/_pdf/2011-flexible-work-conditions.pdf I was on 573 and my husband was my dependent on 574, he was legally working full time in a company.

I am from a high risk country(I'm low risk), and I only need a letter from employer to apply 457 visa. I was working as electronic engineer for more than 7 yrs. This morning I've got an e mail from DIAC requesting for more information such as police clearance, birth certificate, IELTS, passport sized photo so I think basically you only need a letter from your employer.
