  1. With regard to a HAP number, I read somewhere a while ago that for medicals, forms 26 and 160 will probably need to be completed. On looking through them, I see that on form 160 question 11, if you answer NO a HAP number is not required. The same applies on form 26 question 13. Anybody have any ideas on this one?!!!
  2. Thanks Learjet, I know there are a couple of forms we will probably have to complete and take with us for the medicals, but I have yet to print them out, so I can read them thoroughly. C
  3. Hello Veronique, thanks for the info. As succinct as ever. Like me, I am sure you are wondering why we have been told roughly when to do the police checks and medicals, but can't actually do the medicals on line without a case officer giving us the HAP number!! Very odd(no change there then) All the best, Carob
  4. Hello Veronique, excellent info as usual. I'm just being lazy, but what is a HAP number? Something to do with Health ............?? Not income Tax related I don't think. But, just how long does it take for immi to answer the phone, assuming the correct department is located, and emails are slow. Just shows how many queries they have to deal with though. Cheers C.
  5. Thanks Alan, this is the site for Chireckles, they seem to have changed their name now?! Although nothing has been moving on it for ages, as I check frequently.
  6. Yes Genie1 we are exactly a year behind you, as is Veronique, but I thought you would be a good reference point. We have both had acknowledgement letters which give us timelines. eg 10 months from June 2013 do police checks, and 12 months from June 2013 medicals, then other instructions. So I was optimistically thinking September/October 2014!!:twitcy: Lottery win sounds good. Not sure if there is a tracker for the 143's, had a feeling not. When I am in the mood for trawling through the website I will have a look. Thanks for the update. Carolyn
  7. Hello Genie, this info is really useful, and received just when you were about to give up on a reply no doubt. Do you think this would also apply to parent subclass 143 visas as well? I had a feeling that the 173's were done quicker, but don't know why! Thanks, C:cute:
  8. Wow, this is turning into a bit of a nightmare for everyone. Having recently sent an email asking if our forms 180 have been received yet, I won't be holding my breathe for any response soon! I really don't want to do them again. How are you greeting on Phoebe? Improving every day I hope. So, onwards and upwards then. Carolyn
  9. So Phoebe you just might get to Aus for Christmas, how exciting for you. And oh dear, my daughter in Perth who is only 35 has just been diagnosed with something similar to you (degenerated disc). She saw a neuro surgeon really quickly, in under a week, but was told to leave treatment for a while, but not to start the course she was intending to do, as the job would not be suitable in the long run. let's hope your recovery time passes quickly and smoothly. Carolyn
  10. You must be so relieved to have the op behind you Phoebe. Just take very day as it comes, there will be ups and downs, but in the long run I'm sure it will be worth it. Then you can go to Aus. I have to say I don't know what your problem was, as I only joined this group a few months ago, so hope I have said all the right things! best wishes for a very speed recovery. Carolyn x
  11. Oh dear Tab, how very frustrating for you. Veronique and I were lucky to have our acknowledgement when we did then. Very impressed that your daughter was able to get some sense out of immi via a phone call. How on earth did they find you without a ref number? I have been checking Chireckles regularly for you, and now understand why there has been no movement on the site for ages. all the best, Carolyn x:rolleyes:
  12. Hi Tab, I keep looking for you on Chireckles, thought you would have heard something by now. I understand that this first communication (ie acknowledgement letter with all the dates for what's to happen) comes in the post, and all others by email. So chat up your positive!! You are right though, "how long is a piece of string"? keeping my fingers crossed for you, Carolyn
  13. Oh dear you poor thing Phoebe. Trouble is you get all revved for the op And then they cancel as you have found. I thought that you had already applied for your visas, but with regard to the 173, in the long run it does actually cost more I believe, maybe a couple of thousand, but don't quote me!! best of luck for Tuesday. Carolyn:smile:
  14. We'll just have to keep on paddling away then. Yes, you are right about the agents. Get so far with questions and then they say ooh it is a specialist one you need to sign up with us. However, I suppose they are running a business and the info they do give out can be very helpful.
  15. Good luck HarrisL6 in your quest for the 143 visa. You will also most probably be required to complete the dreaded Form 80, which in some ways is more time consuming than the 143 application, so just to alert you to this challenge. Unfortunately, because we are so old it took some time to assemble the info asked for, one reason being that I had thrown my CV away thinking I would never need it again.!! We also live in Hampshire, so hope you are right about house sales. regards Carolyn
  16. Thanks Freesia. We are in two different boats then, although paddling in the same direction. I can't seem to find out the info you do, what's your secret?! I rely on Chireckles for mine. I suppose the 103 doesn't appear on the site. Carolyn
  17. I have to say our last three house moves took 15 months or so, but we were hoping the market had picked up. We live in the South East, but I expect each area is different. Cheeky question, you might not wish to answer it!! When are you expecting to get your visa Freesia? Can't locate you on the Chireckles site, which doesn't seem to have moved again for a while. Perhaps DIAC do things in batches?! Poor you Maureen. Regards Carolyn
  18. Hi Freesia, thanks, yes we will stay optimistic. Next dilemma - when to put our house on the market? Probably have to wait for the prices to zoom up!! C.
  19. I was giving the worst case scenario I think. However, your news has cheered us up. We have to do police checks "10 months from June 2013 and the meds. 12 months" from then as well. I have to say I was thinking Sept. 2014 for grant of visa, with a bit of luck. Thanks for your help. C.
  20. Hello Richard300. We have gone for the CPV143 visa, which is the expensive one, but we should be granted it in 18-24 months ( we are hoping for it a bit earlier, being eternal optimists!!). We then get perm res immediately. The cheaper visa has a very long wait, probably 12-15 years. We were not happy to be in 'no man's land' and sort of non-people whilst we waited. Then as previously stated, there is another medical just before the grant, which could be tricky. However, we are a lot older than your MIL, and thought we might not be around to to get the visa!! regards, C
  21. What a relief for you Learjet. Will use your time line for us, similar dates but a year later. So in theory this time next year for us!? Yes, I agree these threads are very helpful, even if I do ask daft questions sometimes. All the best to you all. C
  22. Veronique, congratulations, you are now on the list. Thank goodness DIAC didn't take the time they originally said to find your application. So only a few days behind me now, just waiting for Tabitha to come on the listing with us. Are you still ploughing on with Form 80? carolyn x
  23. Hi Steve, seems to have stopped at me then on August 27th when I put on my acknowledgement date. No changes so far as I have seen. Very interesting site. Carolyn
  24. Thanks Rowley That puts my mind at rest. Have just waded through both of our employment records and what we have done since retiring. (Typically I had thrown away my CV as I didn't think I would ever need it again!). Details of where we had travelled to we less difficult to access. Hope all is going well for you. Carolyn
