  1. You are absolutely right MaisieD, have often wondered why they don't have lodgement date as well. Our acknowledgement only took about two/three months, so we were lucky.
  2. Oh, well done Cass, that was quick for the visa grant. At least you knew your checks etc has been received when they asked for the 2nd VAC. We sent the final papers that they asked for yesterday, but are very nervous as to whether they have gone through. Looking at your experience with the 2nd VAC request, it looks as if we won't run over their 28 days. All the very best wishes for your new adventure.
  3. Thanks Steve. Yes according to the Gainwave tracker site, it has taken 496 days to Case Officer, so shorter then some. They are probably hoping we don't 'pop our clogs' before we get out there!! Always a slight worry too when emailing stuff to them, that it might not actually have arrived. All the best
  4. Well 'the eagle has landed' as someone said last year, strongly disguised as a Case Officer; Team 1. I am congratulating myself on my accurate predication of today, the 5th January 2015, for this to happen, although I was beginning to doubt myself after reading Cassie's timeline, who we are now hotly pursuing. We just have to email Immi our police checks and passport pages (yes, as Alan Collett said the other day the 21st century has arrived!). My daughter will then pay them within the 28 days specified. Just need Ernie to come up trumps and my cup will certainly be running over!! Your turn next Veronique ? my best wishes to you all, carob
  5. Happy New Year to all our readers! Can anyone remind me how to update the info on my timeline at the bottom of my posts, I think it is called my 'signature'. I have had a good look on the forum but can't find out how to progress. (Obviously an age related memory lapse!!).  Oops, please ignore this, I have found out, by default I might add, how to do this, haha.
  6. Hello Cassie, we are off to Perth. Our daughter (and only child) lives there, so we thought we would spend our twilight years with her, and in the warm. Just hope she will be able to be there for us when, and if we need help!! Not anticipating her pushing us around in a wheelchair though, haha. Carob
  7. Hello Cass, interesting that you say there seems plenty of flight availability, that should be good for you. Who are you looking to fly with? We are just a couple of months behind you, so being optimistic (haha) I have it in my head that our CO just might 'land' on the 5th Jan. No reason for thinking of this date, just hope I haven't put a jinx on things!! Thank goodness we have already sold our house, so only have to consider moving out of our rental. All the best, Carob
  8. Thanks very much for this information Alan, yes it is very good news for all of us . A small gift for us just before Christmas, just waiting now for the Big One now! Wishing you all the best for the festive season, and may you have a successful New Year in 2015. All of us on here (I am sure) thank you for your very useful and amazingly quick, informative responses.
  9. Super, thanks for the info. although as we lodged after you I am sure there is no mention in our letter of being able o do police checks electronically, although Alan Collett has confirmed this is now the case. Yippee, so much easier. Yes I knew the medicals were sent directly, thanks. Luckily already have scanned copies of just about everything. Just wish we knew how to print money! Best wishes for your future. Carob
  10. Ooh lucky you Cass, what a good start for the New Year. How are you doing finding a flight at short notice? All the best wishes.
  11. Hello Smilezzz. So were you able to email the police checks through to immi? I thought the originals were needed. Maybe the rules have changed yet again!! Very exciting for you all. Every good wish.
  12. Hello Tony. I am just wondering if your letter is like the one we had on acknowledgement of our 143 visa application. Our letter asked for form 80 to be completed immediately. There were further dates for medicals/police checks and AOS. We have to wait until asked before we send our police checks. Maybe the letter format has changed yet again, it is not always that clear as to the sequencing, probably someone else on this wonderful site will have further ideas!
  13. hiya Cassie1e04. Well, you look like a lucky person, and seem to have jumped a few days ahead in this visa game, going by what Barry001 said earlier. Is Immi a bit all over the place? We lodged in June 2013, and were lucky enough to be informed on acknowledgement of what we had to do and when, which in some ways makes life a bit easier. A waiting game for us all!! Interesting what you have said about viewing the ten years wait, unfortunately due to my age I may not make it, haha Keep the info coming. C x
  14. Oh Freesia, you are a lot more optimistic than I am. I am not expecting to hear anything until, at the earliest end of December, but more .likely January 2015. That's after reading all the posts on here. Do you know something that we don't? Haha
  15. A good gracious Ozmaniac, THIRTY YEARS wait now for a non contributory parent visa!! The time seems to be lengthening by the minute. So glad we have gone for the 143, even though it costs.
  16. thanks for the info Cass1e04' trouble is I can't find 'my signature', having safely negotiated the previous two moves!! Help, where do I go next? So useful this site, love reading about others in the same position ie what will happen next!,haha?
  17. This information is very useful, Philinsa, I have made a note of it. We applied for the 143 visa in June 2013. Have just sold our house and moved into a rental until we get the call!! All the 'ducks are in line' police checks, medicals and the AOS. We are a very mature couple, so the comments from various people regarding integration when we move over are interesting. I just hope we do see something more our only child when we move, but of course it has to be better than the other side of the world I think! All the best to everyone on here.
  18. Thanks for the info. Our move is a bit complicated, as we are moving into a rental in the UK, having sold up (we hope!) until our visas come through, which will not be for a few months. So we obviously need a company for both moves, and Robinsons sound good from experiences on here. Of course the person who comes to quote is always very charming! We are going Perth and I think Grace are there as well. However, as we all know things change. Thanks to all xx
  19. Thanks for your reply beckyjane. I have looked them up and they have a branch near us. Have to say they have not featured on removal companies before I don't think, but they sound very good, their website is very informative and answers a number of questions I have. Do they write on each box, as I believe that is a requirement by customs, makes life easier for them I suppose if this is the case!! Or is it just a general in in inventory, who did they use in Aus to unpack. Sorry if these questions seem a bit stupid, it's just that I like to know. Haha! Thanks in advance.
  20. Wow beckyjane, your removal company sound first rate. Are you allowed to say who they are? If so do tell me. I always wonder if it matters whereabouts in the UK you live, as to which company you are able to choose. Them doing the inventory sounds good, or maybe all companies do it, otherwise a bit of a nightmare trying to keep up with them !! Thanks in advance for any info.
  21. Yes, I declared this at my medical on June this year, only one tab a day. It was not a problem. Just take your prescription with you as proof.
  22. Hello Lou 8670 Good to hear about the waiting time of 16 months, however as you rightly said, other people have been told longer waiting times. I think we just have to wait and hope. Here are our Time Lines so far. 143 Visa lodged in June 2013. Acknowledged in August 2013, first VAC had already been taken. PCC done May 2014, and medicals June 2014 (panel doctor not really allowed to say what the results are, but you do get a very good idea as to how it all went. We were told no to to lose any sleep over it!! So we drew our own conclusions from that statement). Hope this helps. By the way, how do you put all that info on the bottom of your messages? Sorry if that sounds a bit thick!
  23. Hiya Tab, if you have a look at my message to steve2 yesterday, you will see a bit of my time line with regard to medicals and Police checks. I seem to recall we have a similar LODGE date, remember a chat when all this started! However, we are on the 143 route, so will not be the same as yours. Our acknowledgement letter laid out suggested time scales on when to do things. We have already sent our AOS money over to our daughter, who will be paying it shortly, but I think with your visa ?? a 173 you won't be doing this payment yet - lucky thing haha. Carob Oh also our medicals were done electronically, contrary to the instructions we were issued with. As people are remarking things change!! Keeps us on our toes though doesn't it?
  24. hello Steve2. Our 143 visa were LODGED June 2013. With our acknowledgement letter which we received in August 2013, were various letters/information. We were asked to do our police checks 10 months from June 2013 (ie from April) and our medicals 12 months from June 2013, these have both now been completed satisfactorily. We paid our deposit by credit card on the form, but the only way you know it has been taken is to check your statement, as the acknowledgement letter takes a couple of months to be sent. When we applied it was necessary to supply certified copies, but there seems to be continual changes to the process. There is a CPV tracker site which is now called gainwave.co.uk/cpv it was chireckles.com which you might find interesting, has lots of dates, although I'm not sure quite how up-to-date it is in the long term. Hope this makes sense, great site this though for info. Carob
