    Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that we could go on a spending spree haha! Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas, not that it feels like it. Here in Perth we are in the middle of a heatwave - 40 degs - early for WA.

    Hello, a long time since Ive been on PIO, and I hope this is the right place for my question. We came out here nearly five years ago on the 143 visa. We have now been accepted as Citizens. Will we now be able to have our Assurance of Support ($14,000) refunded, or do we still have to wait the ten years? Of course, that all depends on being able to negotiate the Centre.ink system!! Thank you, in the hope that someone else has gone through this experience.

    Ooh thanks everybody for your replies. I had thought it could be done from here, but I was concerned that it might take a long time. I think I then I have to notify Immi on form 9209 of the new passport details, although the Visa will still be on the old one. Let's hope it doesn't get lost! thsnk you all again.

    I did find a post for the year 2014, so thought the replies might not be accurate now! On the post, it refers to being able to renew UK passports here in Australia. Is this still the case? I live in Perth WA now, Permanent Resident for the past couple of years, so if it's possible to renew here, would be so much easier. Ii'm sure someone out there will have an answer, so I thank you in advance for any help.

    Yes, tend to agree with you. Not so easy to see what thread you want to follow. Also, some days bombarded with stuff, even though I've tried to sort what and when I want to receive posts. When I originally joined, I don't recall having to choose, it just happened!

    There's a very good butcher in Ellenbrook Suzyq, called Cutting Edge. (not a hairdressers) ?? Its next door to a shop selling fishy things. We go there when in the area going to other places, 'cos we live in Ascot.

    Regarding a bank account. I'm pretty sure we opened a Westpac account in London, before we had our 143, then confirmed it when we arrived in Perth. However, this was a few years ago, and due to our advancing years might have mis-remembered!!

    Oh dear Cerberus 1, here I am again. Not sure what's happening, but I'm not receiving any replies in my emails from PIO, usually I'm on the Parents Visa thread. So far I've posted two replies and not had anything in my box. Not sure if that makes sense, but I'll blame it on my new IPad!! Hope you can sort me out, with thanks in advance.
