Hey, I applied in May with police checks front loaded, got asked for medicals with no 3 month wait either. Assume it's cos we already limited ourselves to an initial entry date of a year after the police check date so meds make no difference now. I was a bit keen and had my police checks ready mid march not expecting the whole thing to take quite so long. Ah well intend to go mid jan either way good luck to you!

That is great! Did you contact after meds? I did and just heard a very short response of they were fine and nothing further is required. Not sure if that can be taken as requirements are met as nothing explicit about a grant... That'd be such good news to get!

Checked with my co today two weeks after taking meds, they've been received and are fine, nothing further is required apparently. Just another 7-8 months to wait now, exciting!

Oh no I won't be, I'll definitely be pestering her. It was all good and clear though so only waiting on the HIV test but fingers crossed that's all fine too! Yeah I'll be checking if anything else is needed before I book flights, think my evidence was ok. Thanks for the reassurance!

I'm fairly certain they're quite unusual, but yes hopefully someone further down the process can confirm with us. thanks, yeah I had a feeling I probably wouldn't be getting an update on the meds unless I prompted! Will definitely send a follow up in a couple of weeks.

Hey, I'm in a similar position to you so I'll be keen to see any advice. Sent mine mid May with police checks, medical done a week ago, LG is my CO too. Has she said you will be expected to have an interview? It was my understanding that tends to be for people they needs points clarifying for/haven't given quite enough evidence. I'm hoping for a grant jan/feb and once I hear meds are good will look to book a flight for mid jan and just go to NZ if necessary.

Hey, my partner's mum was born in the UK so he was able to apply for a British passport which I photocopied and included. Think it was mentioned in our stat decs too as part of his decision to move over here. No more evidence was asked for on this so I'm sure a copy of the passport and small explanation will be fine!

Congrats! Can't believe the differences in time seen especially given you front loaded with police checks and did meds a month after - I'm exactly the same as you, just applied a month ago and everything done...was really hoping it may speed it up but seems no logic. Ah well, if all goes to plan intending to fly to aus jan regardless.

Hey, I asked pretty much the same question a couple of weeks ago! Like you I got most evidence back but some stuff like bank statements and flat lease they kept which confused me. I think it wouldn't all have fit in the envelope I provided. I've not heard anything else either so assuming its all good!

Hey guys, just filling out the forms (26 and 160) ahead of my medical on saturday... could anyone advice me for the question around which visa subclass are you applying for - did you just put Subclass 309 - Partner temporary, even though it incorporates the 100 and permanent visa down the line?! Thanks for any help

Hey thanks for the reply, that is good to hear. Yeah it was all copies really so I was only expecting a few bits back but then when I got more and not all I got paranoid! Haha, only the meds to stress about next... Thanks for the reassurance!

Hi Andy that is really annoying. However I assume the letter is a stat dec? I was advised on the Australia forum by a migration agent that the 6 week rule is only for onshore applicants so don't worry about that!

I hadn't even noticed that til you said... Mine says 100 too though and I'm definitely not eligible! when you say you got your evidence back, did you get it all back? I didn't and now I'm (hopefully needlessly!) panicking there's something wrong with the bits they kept! Pretty sure it wouldn't have all fit in the envelope I provided though....

Nice one! That's weird I didn't get a date for medical, perhaps because I already included police checks. I think they're recommending you don't do it before August, that way it should give you about 6 months from grant to enter by. Police checks 3-4 weeks from memory.

That's great, thanks for the replies everyone. I was hoping the info asked for with general request letter was it, just checking if anyone had been asked for anything since. I'd be very happy if nothing else to sort now other than the medical!

A couple of queries on further information for anyone with a visa approved or a way down the processing time... If you didn't submit a form 80, was one requested? Is the further info requested when CO assigned generally all they will want? Thanks

Haha that is strange isn't it. Thanks, you too. I'll keep posting too, I intend to book my medical within the next couple of months, just hoping they don't ask for anything more - I've put in so much stuff I can't think of anything else!

I'm sure it won't be far off, from what I've read most people seem to get one within a few weeks...and I doubt that bit makes any difference on the final grant date. Still, good to know they're looking at it I guess!

Hey, I'm in a similar situation to you, my partner is australian with dual citizenship, we've been living together in Leeds for just over a year. Our application was received 13 May 2013, money taken 14 May, yet to be assigned a CO. Sent with police checks (we intend to move ASAP), not done form 80, did anyone do this / get requested to do one? Hoping we shouldn't have to send any more evidence at least...now the waiting game!
