  1. Apologies for delay been crazy here... - FedEx'ed what they needed March 4th - received and accepted offer on house March 5th (12 days on market) - Permanent 100 VISA granted March 11th - closing escrow tomorrow March 21st - giving notice Monday to my job Woo hoo
  2. Even if you are married a LONG time and many kids they will, as we found out, still ask for all the various family and friends "references". Only difference is they will likely immediately give you a 100 Permanent rather than 309 temporary.
  3. Thanks, we took care of almost all of that yesterday and awaiting police report. FYI, they also advised naturally that they may still ask for more documents and that "Please note the average processing time for a complete application for a partner visa is currently 5-12 months"
  4. USA email from Immigration Officer today asking for more info so looks like they are now actively reviewing it!! Despite providing FBI check which is what they asked for seems they also now require a local police (state) check. We also did not include any suporting statements as married 18 years and 2 kids (10+) from relationship but they still want them so good tip for anyone else. Weirdest request is they want a certified copy of my birth certificate and status in US even though I am obviously an Australian citizen with an Australian Passport (and you need both of those to get your Oz passport) For supporting statements do they want something really detailed as obviously her mum and cousin have know her from birth (43 years) and me 19 years?
  5. So we are hopefully very close to getting SPOUSE visa as it has been 8 1/2 months but as we put house on the market last week we may sell it before here visa comes through (houses sell fast in our area of CA) Whereas we could move in with her parents until visa is approved it would not be ideal with 2 kids with getting them to school etc and space in house. Has anyone entered Oz on a VISITOR visa whilst waiting? Did you have to have a return ticket? Did customs/immigration officers have issues with you entering without a return ticket if you didn't have one? Spouse already has an ETA (601) visa from when we visited Australia last June, would she need a different one to enter? FYI, both myself and kids are Australian Citizens. Thanks for any info as spouse is naturally getting VERY stressed out :-(
  6. here is the sticky thread on PARTNER VISA http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/58449-summary-spouse-visa-processing-times-offshore-uk-please-add-your-stats-871.html#post1936450862
  7. We enquired via website (can't email them direct here in US) in Dec 2013 (6 month mark) and they quoted 8 months We enquired this month (8 month mark) and they still said 8 months so my wife called and they stepped away and checked somehing and came back and confirmed it was still ave 8 months so any time now, who knows!? Would it take longer if they are looking at granting the full PERMANENT visa as we are married 18 years with 2 kids who are citizens? I also see mention of people going to Oz on tourist visas and waiting it out, are customs officers not concerned when you arrive on a one-way ticket or are they understanding?
  8. House went on the market today... hopefully visa any day now as over 8 months
  9. 8 months as of 2 weeks ago so getting excited and wife freaking out because we decided to put house up for sale finally this Friday. Houses selling very quick in our area so by time we close escow we should have VISA and won't have to stay with her mother (4 of us) Also hoping they make it a PERMANENT visa automatically as married almost 18 years with 2 children over 10 who are both Australian Citizens.
  10. Are the SPOUSE visas processed in the country they are submitted or are they all processed in Australia? Info I found online seems to point to them ALL being processed in Australia. FWIW, we submitted my wife's application last June 6th and we are also still waiting after 8 months. We are in the USA and married 18 years with 2 kids over 10 who are both Australian citizens
