  1. Hi there No they're not but Tony Mooney is a name that has been going around PIO for a long time, if you google live the dream (sorry I thought it was living) they are based in bedford, uk, you will see lots of testimonials from other people that have used them and one of them mention Tony in their statement. Just trying to help:biggrin:
  2. After reading through this thread it will be interesting to see how long our 457 will take. Our MA is in sydney, Rapid Visas - I emailed off all the paperwork requested this morning, he said we wont need medicals just confirming in the email that there aren't any pre-existing medical conditions would be fine. Our go between is Australian Trade Connections who liase with us, the visa people and my husbands new employer. The lady there said that it should take 6-7wks once paperwork has been submitted as there had been a backlog but it was now being cleared. She also said that my hubby's new boss had already provided his necessary paperwork so it's just ours their waiting for, so fingers crossed it wont be long..................... i will come back and update with a timeline to help others going through the process once we get the visa:biggrin:
  3. Hi, if you do change I'd contact Tony Mooney from living the dream, he's great, very on the ball and very fair too - wont rip you off x
  4. Crown relocations seem to be very good as they have a base in sydney as well as lots of offices here in the UK and offer storage too! When I spoke to them they were more than helpful :cute:
  5. We're moving from the SW near Bristol to Sydney and have had two quotes, one from Crown Relocations and the other GB Liners (both very good company's). We're going groupage which means a shared container, but our quotes were £2,800 (gb liners) and £2,986 with Crown and that includes AQIS (obviously not if they remove and clean anything but then general duty) packing and delivering and unpacking the other end. hth xx
  6. Hi My husband has been offered a job in sydney, which he is due to start at the beginning of Feb 2014 on a 457. We have just had the list of documents that we need to send to the MA and it also stated that on a 457 we must have medical insurance, which we were aware of. I just wondered if anyone could recommend a cheap one as their recommendation was bupa and the quote came out at $47 a week! which seemed a bit pricey to me! Many thanks x
  7. Hi, we have friends who moved to perth a 18mths ago and one tip he gave us was you know those little silicone gel sachets you get in new handbags/purses etc? you need to put a few of these in with your computer/tv etc as they absorb moisture. Also if you're taking anything from the garden i.e. lawnmower or bikes etc, they need to be steamcleaned so they are immaculate and have no trace of grass or soil on them and then wrapped in clingfilm, also attach a note stating they have been steam cleaned! We're on our way to Sydney in the new year so will be doing all this ourself soon!! xx
  8. Hi, We're fairly new to this but my husband has just been offered a job via the 457 sponsorship route, which we're obviously over the moon about, and we've only been on the case since April. I have just been doing loads and loads of research, sending off my husbands cv and covering letter (which I was fortunate enough to be able to use a friends format who paid someone in london £75 to do in the oz format). We have friends who came to Perth on a 457 18mths ago so they were able to give us a few hints and tips. I have also spoken with Tony Mooney from Living the dream, who I believe comes highly recommended and is very efficient. I signed up with seek.com.au and totaljobs.com and they send me daily email alerts and I've just been applying for jobs everytime they come up. I've probably applied for about 80 by now. Also check out <snip> I've found his website also very useful. Good luck, it's hard work but worth it (I hope!) Cathy x
