hi i was wanting some advice on how to go about emigrating and the costs involved, im 25 and it would just be me moving. i have 7 years experience and currently work in a main dealer bodyshop as a met technician- stripping and refitting all makes of accident damaged cars - i have no experience of panel beating/spraying or mechanical ie suspension etc. Do the bodyshops in australia have the same set up ie stripper-fitters, panel beaters,sprayers or do the panel beaters strip themselves? how do you go about getting someone to sponsor you is it better to use a recruitment agency, if it doesnt work out do you have to pay anything? How long does it take? Is there jobs available for stripper/fitters in oz, what do you need and what does it cost? Is there places where you can house share, as with just being me going would prefer to live with other people? Has anyone emigrated to work in a bodyshop was it good or bad, would prefer to hear both sides if possible? lots of questions i know thanks for any replies.

Hi i currently work as a body shop assistant manager for a prestige body repairer approved for Mercedes and Porsche, I want to work in australia in the bodyshop trade and have 10 yrs trade experience in vehicle painting ,estimating,parts and management. I am looking for a employer sponsor to support my visa application or offer any advice on job opportunities and info on the trade in oz. Regards Chris
