  1. Just found out that my visa (309) has been granted!!!!!! Applied 3 March so 7 months to the day!!! Thanks to all those who gave advice and your right it is a rather s**tty waiting game but it will come through. And for hopefully a fair few of us a lot earlier than expected! All in the nick of time as well as I fly out on Thursday! Good luck everyone
  2. Hi, I am lucky as applied for my evisa in Jan when was vistng my partners folks (before we applied for PMV). It lasts for a year so i am covered for my trip. Booked my flight now for mid-oct. Visa due end-oct/november so fingers crosse dit will come before I go! Otherwise, I will be forced to live the life of leisure until my grant date... Good luck. Seems from positive responses getting through immigration will be okay, i hope ...
  3. Thanks for the advice. I will notify my CO and take my chnaces. Fortunately i already have a valid evisitor until jan 2014 as I went to visit partners family over there before I even applied for visa. Let's hope I meet a nice immigration officer. Thanks for the tips
  4. Hi all, quick question. I am now 5 months in to the process, have sent off all info - no more req'd, done medicals and police checks 5 June. I have been told 8-9 months which is fine, but as my fiance is already back in Aus am planning on flying out mid-October with no visa or not. From reading the posts that is quite common to be over there on a tourist visa and just leave country for grant date. My concern is when flying out in Oct without a return ticket, what evidence info do i need to give immigration at airport. it will be my third trip to Aus this year so do not want them to refuse entry (happened to my partner when she tried to come back to the UK) Any suggestions, an email or something from the CO maybe? Thanks - oh and good luck everyone it feels like a bloody long wait!
  5. Hi all, Just doing some internet scawling while stressed and overthinking the visa stuff at work and discovered this helpful forum. I applied for my PMV on 4th march (fiance is from Melbourne). Couple of probably over asked questions: - Is 8-9 months really expected? - Can I be proactive in sorting out CRB and medical now? Alos, any advie as I have a 3 month notice period at work, I have absoultely no idea about when to give in my notice. Is there a trigger point at which i can say, I have about 3 months left to go? or is it a case of guess and wait? She goes back to Melbourne very soon and so stressed about being apart for 6 months. This process seems really tough and only two weeks in. Maybe I am just freaking myself out....
