1. Do you want to appeal the decision? It may work.

Hi Samir, extremely sorry about the late response. I never checked the Visitor Messages part in the Pomsinoz profile and today accidentally came across your post.

WA job market is less competitive than VIC and NSW. I have lived in VIC for 8 years and my attempts to land a HR job was fruitless. Companies over here rarely provide sponsorship to 485 visa holders, unless you are from UK, US and have 5+ experience from that country.

3. There are a number of things that the immigration would consider for the MPhil research experience as a working experience. 1) Is your experience a paid experience with 38-40 hours per week work? 2) How relevent is the MPhil research experience with the occupation migration assessment that you have completed? If both question answers are positive. Gather the payslips of the experience, contract of employment and a job description from the university/employer to submit with your PR visa application.
4. Check the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and Consolidated Skilled Occupation List (CSOL) in http://www.immi.gov.au You would need to apply for a Subclass 189 (SOL) or 190 (CSOL) if your skill is in one of the occupation lists. Good luck
5. I would strongly suggest to avoid the agent. I did the whole process myself by reading the forms. Its super straight forward. Save the AUD $9k. It's literally an exploitation of little-known candidates by the agents..
6. Pregnancy wouldn't be an issue. Just notify the doctor during the visa medicals. If you have submitted a Student Visa application and a subclass 190 as well, the visa's get processed separately. By reading your post, it sounds like you're just plain stressing on thinking about the future .. take it easy..
7. I travelled from VIC to WA and stayed here to complete my 1 year job experience to get my skills assessed. I had this worry each day for a year and a half living in WA that my skilled occupation may be taken of the WA list. Finally it didn't, got the skills assessed through VETASSESS (HR Advisor) and got WA SS. My opinion would be, get your skills assessed. VETASSESS can take uptil 3-4 months to notify about your skills assessment. When the skills are assessed, you'll have more leverage to go for any state that has your occupation.
8. Mirwais... do you know when the baby is due to be born?
9. Booked in an appointment with Medibank for immigration medical with HIV test. And provided them with my TRN from application. And then medibank sent off the results to immigration... and when the CO was allocated, he got all the documents... I also did the PCC for overseas and Australia beforehand as well...
10. Did my medicals before the CO was assigned.... wanted to get ahead...
11. Got the visa grant today!!! finally!!!!
12. Visa grant in 6 months is the general timeline from the date CO gets allocated. However, it gets processed faster (within 1 month of CO allocation) depending on the backlog of DIAC..
13. uploaded the requested docs by CO on 20 August 2013... received automatic email confirmation saying that CO will be in touch by 7 working days. So that should be by 30 August 2013.... hate this waiting game :-\
14. Latest from me- CO contacted on 15/08/2013 asking for- My Australian Work Experience- - Employment References - Selection of payslips - ATO tax assessments - Group Certificates For my partner- - Photos of wedding ceremony - confirmation when shared residence began I don't get the point of my further documents of Australian work experience info as I submitted the point test letter from VETASSESS. It seems that that letter is not accepted by DIAC case officers. Darn, shouldn't have spent around a $100 behind that letter from VETASSESS :-\
15. Hey guys, had a question. Is form 80 and 1221 required for both me and my partner (such as, my copy of form 80 and 1221, and then partner filling out form 80 and 1221 as well)? I've just submitted a form 1221 for my partner as per the Subclass 190 checklist.
16. i had to wait exactly two months. Lodged 14/06/2013 CO allocated 14/08/2013
17. I just received an EOI message today same as yours. It was just mentioned that they'll hand my State Sponsorship document to a case officer who will get in touch with me if any further document needed. No time limited provided. paddymacs, did you get any response later regarding this one?
18. Are you an offshore or onshore applicant to Vetassess? What was your job title?
19. I'm currently working in Perth in HR. Someone who doesn't have local experience here in Perth, get in contact with Recruitment Agencies for HR jobs. Most Recruitment agencies have a HR recruitment section for their clients. Try to confirm a face-to-face meeting with the recruitment agencies so that they can have a good discussion with you about your skills and experience. I was assigned with my current employer through a recruitment agency as well. Secondly, always go for temp positions if you come across any. Most employers are a bit reluctant to take someone new into a long term permanent role until they find out about their skills. I came to work with my current employer through recruitment agency for a 3 month temp role, then I was offered a 1 year contract. Recently there is a chance of them making me permanent. Therefore, temp roles can be a great opportunity in disguise. Thirdly, make sure your CV is a good one. I've seen really experienced people with poor CV and they miss out on relevent jobs. You can get it checked by recruitment agencies and ask for their feedback to change them, or you can contact the uni/college career services where you've graduated from, for them to have a look into your CV. I took feedback about my CV from uni and recruitment consultants.
20. Hi Alissar, I completed my undergrad studies in HR from Melbourne, now in Perth working in HR. In answering to your questions in my opinion- 1- Am I wasting my time and should give up applying for jobs before I am in Perth? Answer: Yes. You should apply once you are here. Last month according to Seek.com.au statistics (unknown source), HR jobs has fallen 65% in WA. Other than that, having overseas qualification in HR can de-motivate employers in Aus. Once you arrive in Aus, you should enrol in a primary Certificate III or Certificate IV course in HR which shouldn't cost you much as you're already a PR now. 2- Are there really opportunities for HR professionals with no local experience? I do not mind taking a few steps backward in my career, but would that help anyway?! Answer: Once you arrive in Perth, look for HR assistant roles or HR Administrator role. HR Admin roles may still require you to have Fair Works Australia. 3- Would my chances be any better if I apply for jobs in other regions in WA? Answer: Not really, start applying once you're hear. Because you need to face interviews before the employer can offer you a position.
21. Hi Mabel, My suggestion would be to submit your docs for assessment. 2 hr experience in HR Advisor role + general business administration degree is a good fit. I completed my Bachelor degree in business, specialing in HR from Melbourne. The degree has around 70% HR courses, and remaining 30% are in relation to other commerce topics. Currently I'm working in HR on visa subclass 485, and 4 more months of experience will total my one (1) year post qualification experience. That will qualify me to apply for VETASSESS skill assessment. Aiming for WA SS - visa subclass 190. Guys, any suggestion on my current pathway for HR Advisor Skill Assessment- 1) Australian Bachelor degree in HR 2) Worked 4 months as Retail Staffing Coordinator, and 8 months as HR Administrator Will that qualify as HR Advisor skill with Vetassess? Regards, Ahmed
