  1. I have this innocous query. I currently have 60 points and an invitation to apply for 189 visa. The relevant experience in 60 points is less than 5 years, effectively getting me 10 points for 3 years experience but on Nov 12th this year I complete 5 years and accordingly my experience points goes to 20 making the total 70. So, in case I apply for the visa say today and the experience points goes up before the CO is assigned, would that make it an instant refusal due to overclaim(or underclaim)? My Skill assement by ACS was successfully done around April this year for the relevant experience.
  2. Thanks ecg78. This is great help.I was getting worried sick getting hold of all the docs even before clicking that apply button. Gonna do this now first thing I reach back home from office. I gather this online details that we fill now is what is listed as online form 1393, right? I have Westpac bank ATM debit card. Hope that would do for the payment since it would be less hiccups in AUD. Also, I would appreciate if you can share the docs that you'll be uploading? Can't be more safe when it comes to this.
  3. Yes, That would be correct. I'll obviously disclose my 457 in the application for 189 and will be working in the same role as the occupation under 189. I just hope changing the current address again to a Sydney one doesn't delay it further. I guess that wouldn't mean I'll need a PCC from Australia as well(The total time lived would still be around 8 months by then which is less than an year). Thanks for putting me at ease. I thought as much, that I'll need to go back to get the visa validated. Fingers crossed.
  4. I was there from Jan till July this year but had to travel back offshore. Currently I am in India and would be travelling again on official work on my 457.
  5. Can anybody clarify if there would be any bearing on the visa application decision if I travel on my existing valid 457 visa to Sydney(From my current location in India) after I have applied my 189 visa invitation. My office work might require me to travel soon(like 3 weeks from now) before which I'll be applying for the 189 invite I have received. Would I need to fill any form for change in address as well?
  6. Last Bump. Promise. Just that I am a little jittery on the details. Any help is appreciated.
  7. Can you please share which all are the mandatory documents and forms that one need to attach when we click on that apply button and make the payment? Does it get frozen after the payment or are we free to add the documents even thereafter?
  8. //yes,since you have stayed there for more than 6 months in total You mean 'more than 1 Year', right?
  9. **BUMP** Can someone please confirm on this, especially the certified bit? Where do we get all the docs certified(In India and In Aust)?
  10. Thanks everyone. I am also from the ICT stream, Analyst Programmer to be precise. And to answer bodhisattva, I had submitted my EOI on 2nd July early morning around 1 AM Sydney time and my EOI id is around 18000 less than yours. Also I hold a 457 visa and was in Sydney when I had applied on the EOI. BTW, for all of us 189 ones, have a look at this thread I have created on the checklist of the documents and share your comments- http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/165549-checklist-189-common-forms-supporting-docs-diy.html
  11. Hi All, I was planning to go through the DIY route on applying the 189 invite I got on the 15 Oct but feel that I am not 100% certain on all the documents that are required to be uploaded on the e-visa application. So, let me list down all the forms and supporting docs that we need and please correct me or add any additional ones if required, which might be of great help for all of us- Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa Points- 60 Applied for- Analyst Programmer Applying from - India (Could also be Australia in my case, as I would be travelling on my 457 again on an assignment soon) Forms and certificates- Form 80- Personal particulars for assessment including character assessment --- Not sure on this Form 26- Medical examination for an Australian visa Form 160- Radiological report on chest x-ray of an applicant for an Australian visa Form 1071i Health requirement for permanent entry to Australia (for reference only, not to be filled) Form 1393 Electronic application form ??? where or what is this??? ----Form 1229 Consent to grant an Australian visa to a child under the age of 18 years-- Not required in my case, lone applicant ----Form 956 Advice by a migration agent/exempt person of providing immigration assistance---Not going to fill this  ----Form 956A Appointment or withdrawal of an authorized recipient if you have ----- Not required Supporting Docs-(scanned certified copies) Birth Certificate Passport UID (India) PAN Card (India) Tax returns for past 5 years (India) Tax Return (Australia, I was here from jan to june this year) IELTS result ACS Positive assessment result Bachelors Degree certificate (No detailed transcripts required) Employment Proof Letter from company HR Bank statement India for past 1 year (Original printout, can't be certified true copy) Bank statement Australia for past 6 months (Original printout, can't be certified true copy) Address Proof doc???? Anything specific is required for this? And which address, the permanent one on passport or temporary residing one? These below docs can be provided after submitting the visa form and before getting the CO allocated (Provided medical ref id is there)- - Medicals - character certificate or PCC (India from PSK) (Not required for Australia or any other country(Netherland) where stay was less than a year) Is there any other thing I am missing? Please do point out as I feel this checklist would be a great help for all of us going the DIY route. Another small query, what exactly is a certified copy? In Australia I gather this must be 'Certified a true copy' stamp from a JP but I could be wrong. How does this work for other countries like India. Where do we get it certified in India?
  12. Hi All, I checked and there isn't any official thread on all those who have received an Invite for 189 Skilled Independent visa on 15th Oct, so here's a thread for the same. I'll start: One of the lucky few with 60 Points to get an invite. I had Submitted the EOI on 2nd July. Is anybody aware what all soft copies do we need of the docs before we click on that Scary 'Apply' button on the said Visa?
  13. Hi All, I have this small query in regards to how to fill the Family name in the 189 e-Visa/Visa application forms. In my passport my Family name is blank and both my name and surname are present in the 'Given Name'' column. So, should I write my whole name (Name+Surname) in the 'Family Name' column of the application or in the 'Given Name' or split them and write them up. I have a common surname(Singh) which is the issue here. Any help is appreciated.
