Hi, EOI was submitted via agent on the 21 October for regional NSW (north coastal) and wandered if anyone else was in the same boat and whether anyone has heard anything. A friend of mine had hers returned within 3 weeks but Ive not heard a thing. Just want to proceed to the next step asap (Im a reg nurse like my friend), i know its only been a month but I wandered how soon after they review the applications they generally inform us??

Hi, like the others have said, he needs to practice as much as he possibly can. I had to get 8's but in the Academic Test. After 4 attempts I finally passed! and thats after studying 3 years at Uni for my degree. The speaking he shouldnt have a problem with, very relaxed informal chat, the listening is straight fwd as long as hes listening carefully, the reading in the ACADEMIC was horrid, and the writing if hes not brilliant at would benefit him to do some practice papers. Hi all, I have ANMAC lodged, EOI has been sent to NSW and on my to do list is the dreaded AHPRA, Im degree trained so thats all good, however I just wandered if anyone has any indication if the following letter my University has put together would be adequate for Criteria 8??: Further to information sent on xxxx behalf please can I also confirm the following as requested: Criteria 2 I can confirm that, at the time xxxx completed the course of study, we were subject to an external accreditation process that ensures that the standards and quality of the education it provides to students is monitored, assessed and evaluated. Criteria 3 I can confirm that the program of study which xxxx completed and led to registration as a registered nurse, enrolled nurse or midwife was accredited at the time of study. Criteria 8 I can confirm that the programme of study undertaken by xxxx included substantial study and assessment in relation to medicine management including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and medication administration including calculations and the quality use of medications. The assessment strategies used included theoretical and practical assessments. Hope someone who has been through the same process can help me out with this before they send the letter and transcript to AHPRA. TIA :unsure:

Could someone point me in the right direction re: where we would go for medicals and police checks? We live in Huddersfield and wandered where the nearest centre is and how much roughly would we have to find to pay for them? TIA:wink:

On my first IELTS I gained8.0 overall but got 6.5 in my reading which was obviously no use for my ANMAC application, however, I had click on submit stating I'd gained higher than the required 7, it was only when I realised what I'd done that I begin to panic thinking I would lose my application fee etc. I sent an email to ANMAC straight away apologising for my misunderstanding, they were lovely and said as it had already been submitted I would still have approx 14 weeks before they would be looking at it. 14 weeks later, and on my 4th test I eventually passed, I emailed ANMAC to inform them as they had sent an email a few days before saying that as soon as I passed the IELTS they would process the rest of my application, quite lucky really as I then didn't have to wait another 14 weeks, they could have easily put me to the bottom of the list but they didn't, they lodged it within a couple of days of receiving it. you could re sit the general IELTS and as long as you get 8's in each you could gain a further 10'points. good luck

Hi... I originally wanted to head towards Adelaide after qualifying as a nurse in Sept 2013 with OH and 2 children (16 & 18) after getting my IELTS and ANMAC sorted I have now found out that Adelaide are no longer accepting newly qualified nurses and require 3 years experience :mad: After speaking to my agent etc turns out we can have NSW, Northern Territory with my existing 13 months experience, we have looked at Coffs Harbour and quite like the area, I just wandered if anyone else knows of the place and can they give me heads up on anything/everything ??? Its all very well researching the area but would be nice to hear about others opinions etc. My husband has HGV1 and currently works for our local council on restructuring roads etc and has many skills in the different machinery so hopefully he will be able to pick something up similar. Youngest daughter wants to continue in education and eldest will have just finished her course in Uni by the time we hope to get things sorted and move next year and will be looking at jobs/further Uni course?? You sound just like the plans I had been making, we were all set for applying to SA and then 2 nights ago I rechecked and they have changed their criteria! We are looking at Coffs Harbour now, how about you. What kind of nursing are you doing? Do you have family to go with you ??

Hi all, I have finally passed my IELTS, ANMAC are looking to lodge my skills assessment anyday and my next step is to apply for regional state sponsorship as I need the extra points. My trouble is that I only have 13 months full time post qualifying as a registered adult nurse, as I am 44 I only have until I am 45 (Feb 2015) in which to apply before I lose more points. Has anybody sent an application is with not the full post qualifying experience and have been granted sponsorship? I have emailed Immigration SA directly and await their reply. Im crossing everything that this is not going to bring a holt to it all Thanks in advance :wink:

Its very frustrating when you are only a point away and I feel your disappointment. I too needed 8 in each section on the academic to gain the extra points, I struggled with the reading section each time. Try ielts-simon.com you can pick some useful tips from here and keep on using the online resources that ielts provide free (well, part of the £140 that is!!) Have you booked your next one or are you still undecided on whether to get it remarked, I think maybe if it was 7.5 I would give it a go but not sure about gambling for an extra point.... saying that, I dont know if others have been successful in remarking?? Have you had the exam yet, are you native English?? this was by far the easiest, I have jus passed the academic one and I found it very easy apart from the reading section only because of the amount of text to skim and scan through!! On my 4th attempt I eventually passed the academic test with the points I needed to gain a valuable 20 points for my visa application L: 8.5 W: 8 S: 8.5 and R: 8 with a 8.5 overall I had to come off the website and log back in as I was convinced I had read it wrong. The reading test has been a total ball ache !!!! Im still beaming from ear to ear, it has put me on pins for the last 6 months, but boy what a relief now its all done and dusted.:laugh:

I failed previously because of the reading section and found it to be a complete nightmare as well as costing me heaps of money. Cant tell you how happy I am, I had already sent my skills assessment to ANMAC, I emailed my contact over there and shes told me as soon as she receives the confirmation she will be able to process my application straight away so everything is looking good. Anyone else out there still working at it, you'll get there, dont give up xxxx :wink:

Failed again because of the damn reading test..... 6.5 ..... Totally gutted. Have rebooked yet another test which is gonna be on the 26th July..

I had a 4 hour wait !!! I was with a friend who Id previously met at the Manchester one, she was before me so I too was sat on the kerb for a couple of hours lol Sounds like you did better than I did with the reading. I was totally fine with everything else, so annoying

Awe I hope you pass, I did my second test in Leeds on Thursday 19th, yet again I dont feel confident with the reading section, I totally hate the True/False/Not given questions, if Ive failed it;ll be because of them :frown:. I preferred Leeds, far more organised, 104 sat the test and we went through to sit down effortlessly, all in the same room, the room wasny stuffy, downside you couldnt stay in the building at all after the morning session so you had to leave and come back later which wasnt too bad, only a 15 minute walk into the city centre, nice bit of lunch and then a stroll back.

I had to approach my ward manager for a reference for ANMAC last week, he was brilliant about it, but I was dreading the conversation as I felt I was betraying the position I had. i qualified Sept 2013 and this has been our plan all along. He asked when we could potentially be going, I just said it could be 12-18 months + as the visa process can be cruel at times and who knows what hold ups we may encounter along the way. I think honesty is best, most people will be supportive but can equally understand that not everyone are the same and have no choice but to leave it till the very last minute.

Apologies for my interpretation of how we can get those extra points !! I am on nights and i have typed up how to achieve those valuable 20 points !! I am well aware that I have made it look like you can combine the 2 and wasnt meant to confuse anyone!!! Hope you get the results you need JULER RT xx

Hi... I'm sending this post night shift so hope it makes sense lol.. transcript is broken downxhuh all the hours over the 3 years and Yeh they sent it direct as well as sending me a copy. We are aiming for Adelaide, what about you ?

We plan on moving to Adelaide next year (all being well) and wandered if anyone could spare time to give me average living costs for a family of 4 including gas/elec/utilities/health/petrol/food etc etc.. obviously food differs for most households depending on where they shop etc but an approx for these items would be interesting. We envisage to be living in a 3/4 bedroom property, nothing over the top just your average house. Wandered how much mortgages are too ?? We could be looking at approx UK GBP £150,000 - £200K Thanks for anyone who can advise :biggrin:

Believe me, the speaking test is by far the easiest of the lot! I too was stressed about this one but I got a 9 in this section, it was just a normal conversation with 2 people, youll be fine x Had my first test in Manchester, this next one is booked for Leeds as Manchester had a long waiting list Just make sure the transcript you have is the correct one, it has to show the hours and departments you did your training etc, I have a transcript at home but it doesnt have all those details on it, it'll only delay things if you dont have the correct one x

1. NMC send the 'Verification of current registration' ring them and they will send a form for you to fill in and then return with a cheque for £34 and they forward it directly to ANMAC 2.
