  1. Hi, would be interested to hear from any midwives or nurses that are working on the Sunshine Coast? We move to sippy down in January and I have been unable to get a permanent job so will be doing casual until hopefully I get a permanent job?   4. Hi I am a midwife who moved to yeppoon from the uk at the beginning of the year. Happy to answer any questions u have. Good luck
  5. We moved to yeppoon from uk at the beginning of the year. Very different from what we are used to but kids (9 and 5) love it. It's quite a bit cooler than rocky and the beaches are lovely. I work in rocky and takes about 40 mins. Worth the drive for the sea breezes. If u have any specific questions feel free to ask. Good luck
  6. Hi Just after any advice or tips for people that have managed to get dual registration for nursing and midwifery in Oz,. I have been midwife for 10 years and nurse 8 years before that. AHPRA have granted my midwifery registration but not my nursing as I have not actually practised nursing for 10 years. I really need my nursing as well as I am going to be working rural and need both. I have option to appeal and wondering if anyone has advise or simular situation. Was going to clarify all the duties that I had as a midwife that where nurse related such as post op care and scrubbing in theatre etc Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance Zoe

  10. Hi Would appreciate any tips from people who have already made the big move. We are due to move to Oz in January (central coast Queensland) and have booked a container to move all our stuff. Is there anythings that you wish you had brought to Oz or stuff you wish you hadn't?? Or any tips with handling the packing up and the removalists.   11. Hi, Currently trying to decide on a move to Brisbane from UK with husband (who is Australian) and children aged 9 and 4. Lived in Oz prior th children but now it is a huge decision to up route the family....wil it be worth it??? Would appreciate ANY advice good and bad about life there. Houses, schools, life style. I know there has been alot of posts like this but any new/ up to date stuff would be great I am a midwife so hope to find work fairly easily... i think? Look forward to hearing from you Thanks Zoe
