  1. Hi, we are also using Visa Bureau. I would highly recommend this agency, they have been really good, and helped us continously. Money well spent.
  2. Hi Taylors4. Just letting you know our sponsorship came through today. It took a total of 10 working days. So pleased, now for the visa application :-))
  3. Thanks Coastie, I was hopeing for sooner but never mind :-)
  4. Hi everyone, just submitted my sponsorship to WA. The website states 30 days for processing, does anyone know if it is taking the full 30 days or is it earlier?
  5. You have my sympathy. We too are in the same predicament. We have had our house on the market since May, we are now just waiting on our visa. Its sole distroying. Hope good news comes soon x
  6. I had the same problem. I eventually had to pay £120 for 1 piece of paper (the uni syllabus) to say the same thing the previous documents said. However I rang APHRA and asked for an extension on the 1 month time frame and they were fine about it. Good luck, keep going, you will get there x
  7. Good and helpful thread rickjoann. I also have a 14 year old boy, we are hopeing to move by March next year. I am starting to worry about activities for him and hopeing he will settle x
  8. Woohoo, well done, hope all goes well x
  9. thanks for your advice, its so hard trying to decide. We are hopeing to get a furnished short term rental but want to try and stay in the same area longterm so the kids do not have to move too far twice. My god my head is pounding with it all, thanks again x
  10. After weeks of research I have now got my final 6 suburbs (hopefully). I have based the choices on schools, facilities for family of 4 with two teenage children and work prospects. They are Heathridge, Joondalup, Tapping, Carramar, Kinross and Wanneroo any thoughts??
  11. Does anyone know what Butler is like as a suburb and does it have a decent school? The houses there seem very affordable but is there a reason for it?
  12. Thanks Moirclan. I have also been advised to look at Joondalup itself, Ashby and Tapping. Does anyone know much about these suburbs and schools in the area? Approximately how much is private schooling for a 10 and soon to be 15 year old?
  13. Hello everyone We are STILL in the process of obtaining our 190 sponsored visa. I would be very grateful if anyone has advise about good surburbs around the Joondalup area. I am hopeing to work as a nurse in the Joondalup hospital so would like to be near. I have 2 children 14 and 10. Good schools is a must. Ideally we would like to live in a large affordable suburb to ensure there is plenty to do to keep us all entertained. We have been researching different places on the internet, however they all seem to be merging into one now. Thanks in advance for any help and advise x
  14. Well said Galahad. I am also like Meljayg. We are in the process of moving to Perth. I have 2 boys 14 and 10, my eldest is very academically minded whereas my youngest does not and probably will never like school. I have several friends living allover Australia. They all say that younger children are taught in a very different way, however they all stipulate this is not a bad thing and all leave school with the education and social skills that they need. It is very hard for anyone to advise you what to do. Go with your gut instinct, however one thing I do believe is that a happy child is more fortunate than an academic genius. I feel splitting your family could be more detrimental than a different teaching method at school. I truely hope whatever decision you make is right for both you and your family, good luck xx
  15. Hi Lis1981. Unfortunately APHRA will only accept an IELTS test they will not consider any other English test result. I had mixed feelings on this and investigated it thoroughly and sadly there is no way around it you need to sit the academic ielts test and score a minimum of 7 in each category. Hope this helps x
  16. That was a really positive thread Milliebooboo, just what we needed. I am also a nurse who is in the process of hopefully moving to WA. Can you advise me what the job situation is for nurses (medical-respiratory or diabetes) preferrably. Can you also advise me of a good area to settle near a bigish size hospital and good schools. I have 2 boys 14 and 10 and my main priority is for them to settle. We also need affordable housing with lots to do, thanks x
  17. Well we have made our decision. Western Australia it is. Can anyone advise me what are the best areas to be looking at. Things to consider, I am a nurse and want to be near(ish) a hospital. Good schools for my 2 boys. A good family area with enough to do. Affordable housing. I have been looking near Joondalup and suburbs in that area. Any suggestions would be welcome x
  18. Thanks, yes a permanent visa does sound more appealing, however if the boys do not settle its no good. Yes we would like to be near the city. Queensland does appear to be the more affordable state, so its just weighing up the pro's and con's. My mind is going to explode, I am sure I am not alone, my god decisions, decisions x
  19. Hi, I hope someone can give me some much needed help and advice. We (myself, husband and 2 boys 14 and 10) have decided to take the plunge and move to Australia. Initially we decided Queensland, however at our present situation would mean if we moved to Queensland it would be on a temporary sponsored visa. If we moved to Western Australia I could obtain a permanent sponsored visa ( I am a nurse). I like the idea of a permanent visa, but would rather be in Queensland. Can anyone advise me firstly which state my children would settle best in, secondly which state is better to live and thirdly which is more affordable? I would be thankful if anyone can give me some any advice x
  20. Hi, we are in need of some much needed help and advice. Initially after making the decision to move to Australia we were aiming to move to Queensland. However the way things have worked out the choice is a sponsored permanent visa in Perth or a sponsored temporary visa in Queensland. I have 2 children, both boys aged 14 and 10, our main proirity is for them to settle. The question is where would they settle best? How much more expensive is it to live in WA as opposed to Queensland? My mind is exploding with facts and figures, can anyone shed any light on my quandry please x
  21. congratulations, hope all goes well for you. Like Rachall I am also waiting on APHRA and ANMAC.
  22. Hi, I seen a tutor from test centre. I was quite pricey but worth it. They advised me where I was going wrong, and also how to change things to improve your marks. Good luck, hope all goes well x
  23. Thanks every one for your help, fingers crossed x
